It's really about extras that you may want and how you wish to tip. (not required) The reality of it is that if you prepaid your transportation from and to the airport, you could go there without a penny in your pocket and have a phenomenal time. We've never done that, but last trip the only extra we spent was for tips. (Oh...forgot about the Boobs Cruise. That's one excursion that's NOT optional. You must do it!)

Yep, Boobs Cruise - if you can afford it, you should do it at least once, just for the experience.

I wouldn't ever consider not tipping. Staff deserve it, even if it's only a small tip every so often. We also venture off resort to buy extras that the resort charge you a lot for or don't stock - like Redbull, Dr Pepper, and we usually buy a few bottles of spirits too to supplement the stuff that they serve at the resort. Sometimes it's not great quality.

Thanks for all of the advise. We are arriving the 19th.
I have a tip bucket at home and every weekend I skim all of my 1 dollar bills from my wallet and put it in there, so I will have a a wad of ones to take for tips while there...
I have been trying to find information about drinks available to keep my weight down and will try the Vodka with water and lime , (to go along with beer and frozen drinks of course)
Signed up for the Boob Cruise
Have a package Deal with AI and transfers included
Have a plan to avoid the timeshare obstacle upon check in
Have been working on my 'How I love U' and 'How lucky I am to have U in my life 'lines, for my wife so I can keep her happy...and we all know how important that can be for a great vacation (lol)
Trying to loose weight ...good and bad...
Slowly packing what I think I might take..it will go thru final selection when wife decides how much of my suitcase she needs for all of her bikinis ...

and most of this preparation can be directly related to all of the advise and excitement shared on the forum...
    thanks from a Newbie....

This may seem like a silly question, but do they sell fedora style hats in the gift shop? I mean for a reasonable price? Around $20 - $30 or so. Janice doesn't really want to take a hat on the flight to TTR. Besides, buying a hat there would be a nice little souvenir.

There are people on the beach (if facing the water-walk to the left) in the mornings that sell hats :)

They had cowboy and fedora styles in February.
