Re: Now what? LOL You are correct about "rain" being 5-10 minutes of rain somewhere in the area proceeded and followed by hours of great weather. Don't fret the forecast during normal times. We have been to Cancun a couple dozen times and have only had hard rain once, however we have no tropical storm experience. Our closest was a couple of years ago and we caught the edge of a storm, and ended up with an hour or so of rain. Watching the storm come in was pretty neat. Be careful as the steps and some of the sloping areas can get pretty slick when it is raining..................................................or maybe the booze was the problem instead of the rain.
The last 5 days or so have been pretty rainy, somewhat more than the daily 10 minute shower usual at this time of year. There has also been plenty of sun too though. To be honest I think Mon, Tues Wed could be a little rough if Ida continues on her projected path but it's a little early to tell yet.
http://www.stormpulse.com/fullscreen/current At the moment it is back down to Tropical storm strength... may it get severely weakened or better yet redirected over the next several hours.
I wonder if it could possibly be gone and over with by Monday? There might be quite a bit of rain for several days following the main event! Of course, by Wednesday, it could be over!!!
Watching the latest update, it looks like it will be past Cancun by Monday evening.....if that's the case it should be great..... with a few showers left!
Once it passes Cancun, the west coast of Florida(where I live) could get it. Hurricanes are so unpredictable. It may reintensify in the Gulf.
Orbitz just sent me an email saying that I could reschedule with no penalties. I dont want to but kind of have to entertain the idea. This Sucks!!
