Trying to explain this resort to vanilla people...

College frat party for adults. Fun party in public and if people want to hook up they head up to their rooms, have fun and come back to the party. Just like a frat party.

You know the type of party where everything gets to be going really good and then shit starts to break? Well we get to the fun part but shit doesn't get broken. (OK, pushing this one a bit, but it's usually not shit that gets broken but people, but you know who you are so be careful out there...)

Yeah, there are swingers there but there are swingers at your local Holiday Inn. I mean, it's not like Hedonism, sex in public will get you thrown out of the hotel. It's just a great place where you get to push your personal boundaries a bit but only what you are comfortable with. No pressure from others.

too funny! I did the same thing at my work. I told everyone that as soon as we got to the resort, we headed to the swim up bar, and the next thing I know, my wife is dragging me on to the plane for the trip home.

I say it with a big grin on my face, they look at me and say, "you must have had a good time, you probably needed that vacation". I smile and say, "yeah, if only I could remember it.".

And that's it! No more questions.

We got married at a Riu resort in Jamaica, so we just say since we had a good time there we stay at one in Cancun. When people want details I just tell them we got hammered at the pool all day:

Them:How was the resort?
Me:Nice.

Them:What'd you guys do the whole time?
Me:We just got hammered at the pool all day?

Them:Did you guys do any excursions?
Me:No, we we're too preoccupied getting hammered at the pool all day.

Them:How was the food?
Me: Well...I had bacon in the morning. That was good. Then we went and got hammered at the pool all day. They didn't have any food in the pool. I think I had some guacamole later on in the evening one of the days. That was pretty good too. Great guac they have at Riu I tell ya.

This is when they learn I have a drinking problem and look at me with sad eyes and change the topic.

Few knows others not. Family/friends.
I know who judge so I just tell them whatever first resort I think about. Others tell them Temptation no question ask.

My mother-in-law did wants to come with us. I save this by saying we just want to be together and it's the only vacation we have with the 2 of us.
She never ask again.
not the kind of person I could be aroune for a whole week.

Ahhhh.......those Trip Advisor reports. Some of those gems are probably scaring some potentially fun couples away. But then again, they are probably keeping some boring people away as well. So, more room for the fun loving freaks that keep going back! Yayy for all of us!

Just had lunch with a non vanilla friend of mine and now shes pissed that her and her husband are not coming with us on this trip after I told her about this place! LOL They are going to Mexico in July for a week but sounds like a typical mexico trip and not the kind of fun that TTR has to offer! I told her next time we go they are coming!:flash:

But not like "bang my wife friends", but more like "let’s do shots". Now some people are in the swing lifestyle, but that isn't the majority, and it isn't in your face or anything. At night there are several nice restaurants you get dressed up for sit-down dinner, or if you’re too toasted you can hit the buffet. Then after that people all stay onsite at this open air bar for dancing and all that type of nightlife stuff. Lots of people even wear costumes to be hot or funny. Think schoolgirl next to dude in a banana suit.

First time we found it on trip advisor, we were skeptical, but we just decided to take a chance. Two days into the trip we were like “this place is the shit”, and now we understand why so many people are regular repeaters. The place pretty much has something for everyone and you can party as hard or as little as you would like to. At first the girls are worried about the topless thing, but you get desensitized to it in like a day. It's also awesome that it is like $2500 for two people for 8 nights all included. I was there 3 times in 18 months. The place I went to for my honeymoon was $5500 bucks, way nicer, but the day ended at 10pm and everyone kept to themselves. Not really mine and Elyse’s style, not really looking to read a book on vacation"

Depending on the audience you get a few different options:

Guy alone:
1. "That sounds awesome, I'll have to check it out, what was it called again? Might take some convincing, but I see what you’re saying" (then maybe the convo goes deeper into crazier stuff)
2. "Dude I wish, my wife would never go for that". (sad faces all around)

Couple:
1. Girl promptly says: "Yea I don't really think that's for us." (dude looks like his puppy ran away) I can normally see this one coming by her body langue during the explanation.
2. "Sounds cool, we should look into it" (this one isn't bad as there is still hope, and many times when I see the same people again they ask for more details.)
3. "That's awesome, we defiantly have to go there" (shots typically follow. Most of the time I find many of these people partying at my house at a later time)

Girl alone:

1. (ok so she is alone at a bar for a reason, and talking to me. Probably a party girl, or at least her friends are) “Sounds great, I have to tell my girlfriend!”
2. “You have to tell this to my husband when he gets here soon. He would love it”
3. There really isn’t a 3 on this one, as I probably wouldn’t have gotten far into conversation about TTR with a girl that didn’t seem like TTR material.
