I'm glad you decided to come. I'm chiming in too late to help you decide, but I wanted to let you know that if boredom is a big concern, you are definitely coming to the right place! At some other resorts we've stayed at, "Adults Only" seems to mean "You can lie around reading your Kindle all day without being splashed by kids, and we'll cut off all activity by 10 so you can get a good night's sleep!" We were bored senseless. At TTR, "Adults Only" means, "You can do all the things you would never do in front of kids, and a bunch of teenagers aren't going to take over the volleyball net or pool--it's all ours!" We've always found much more to do there than other resorts in Mexico. As for the atmosphere, people at TTR are absolute masters of respecting boundaries. So many of us have wrestled with the same concerns you guys have that I think we have soft spot in our hearts for newbies. We love to answer questions, give reassurances, and show you the ropes--and we know that pressuring people to go beyond their comfort levels is just counterproductive to everyone's good time.
We were newbies this past October and had the same fears. I can honestly say it was the BEST vacation we've ever had!! EVERYONE is so welcoming......you'll love it!!
My wife, YEAH VERY RESERVE! But yet, like yours, a coupld of cocktails and then you start to open up. Our first trip was a surprise for my wife. I packed everything for her even. She didn't know about it until the airport and when I told her it was topless optional she was not happy to say the least. Having given her the option the trip probably would not have happened. Litterally about 1/2 day into the stay around the sexy pool, we were already planning our next trip back. She had taken her top off once while around the pool but other wise kep it on and there was no change in the amount of "acceptance". No matter what you personality type you will have the tme of your life at TTR because it is the atmosphere that will intrige you! (all the crazy fun people from CCC kinda help a bit too).
I felt exactly the same as your wife when we went the first time in Feb 2011. I go topless about half the time, and that's fine. I promise, you won't regret going--there's really no way to explain it until you're there. It will be a great trip. Forget GP or other boring hotels--you won't want to leave Temptation!
I agree with booking TTR last. Last year we met a nice couple one night when the sexy pool bar was closing. We hung out for a while and they told us how pumped they were about spending the next week at a ritzy hotel that they paid a bunch a money for.....2 days later guess who is cheering me on during the drinking contest?
Everything they said!! Also, I kept my top on for the Boobs Cruise and didn't get one second of grief for it. This was our third trip to TTR and the first one where I never took the top off once. But, had so much fun. Everyone is so friendly. This is probably the only place I have ever been (vacation or not) where everyone is accepting. There really is no judging that I have seen. You guys will love it!!
