You could consider booking some nights at TTR, and some at another hotel in Cancun. That way you don't have to worry about spending your whole trip somewhere you feel is not a good fit for you. I recommend that you book TTR for the last part of your trip, as you won't want to go to the other hotel once you've been at TTR!
If you like to party and have fun then you will love it there. You don't need to be swingers or even go down that road at all. You don't need to go topless as noone will judge her and as for being bored. In 15 trips I have never been bored at BBG or TTR. We party all day and dance all night. Yep. you will run into the odd swinger and if it is not your thing and they ask say no. For the most part you will probably not know who is or isn't a swinger. I know for us its like going home to all the friends we have met there and still have lasting friendships with to this day.
You could be us a few months ago! We felt the same way last September. I (the wife) was more nervous about it than my husband as I am on the shy side too. But after visiting a few other resorts in the past few years and being mostly bored in the evenings we both really wanted to find a place with more of a party atmosphere. Still a little hesitant, we decided to ease ourselves into this just in case our choice ended up being the wrong one for us. So, we booked 4 nights at TTR then 4 nights at a quiet beach resort. I will be honest, I questioned our decision up until we were checked in that first night! But after meeting up with some great people we met on this site we started to feel so much more at ease. After a few drinks we felt right at home and had so much fun! The next day ended up being another adjustment...again, mostly for me. We have seen topless women on other beaches before but not so many in one place. Although my husband had no problem with it (LOL) for me it took a little while to become comfortable. Call it culture shock. But after awhile it just didn't matter. Your wife really shouldn't worry about going topless herself. Throughout our trip I thought about it but never got up enough nerve. And even though I seemed to be a minority I certainly wasn't the only one. She should only do what makes her comfortable and no one will judge her either way. Anyway, over the course of 4 days we met a lot of fun-loving, easy-going people, laughed until our throats hurt, danced until our feet hurt, and drank to our hearts content. Basically we had the time of our lives! When we got to our quiet resort we were so depressed! Why did we only book 4 days at TTR? We spent the last 4 nights of our vacation being bored! If you go here you will meet many, many people who are repeat guests. There's a good reason for that and we're joining the list! We just booked our second trip for April 26-May 4 and can't wait! On a final note, we are not swingers either. We met a few people who were and many people who weren't. It honestly ended up being a non-issue. Everyone is just there to have fun and no one ever tried to pressure us into being something we're not, so don't let that worry you. Don't be afraid to give this place a try. You only live once and the worst thing that can happen is you find out it's not for you. But I'm guessing after a day or two you will end up loving it as much as we did and on your way back home you'll be talking about when you can go back again. Good luck making your decision! P.S. I can't comment on the Boobs Cruise. We haven't tried it yet....but we might this time. If nothing else, we might have an interesting story or two to tell!
Oh boy do I have a story for you. My husband and I were celebrating 10 years of marriage in August. We wanted to take a trip and we knew we wanted it in Mexico but we weren't certain on the resort. Roudell stumbled across this website and we read for days.... Needless to say my husband is way more shy then me but when we talked about Temptations and he showed me the sight he was ready to book. Me on the other hand was like no way! We finally settled on the Golden Parnassus which was another adult only resort. After we booked the Golden Parnassus we continued to be in touch with people on this forum. My husband convinced me to go on the Boobs Cruise which left from Temptations. So we booked the excursion and the morning of I was nervous as heck. We arrived to Temptations with a very warm welcome. People knew of us because of this forum and before we boarded the boat we had made several friends! So to make a long story short we ended up going back to this resort the next day and paying to stay at Temptations when we already had a room at a different resort. You won't regret it. The only thing we wished we would have done was stay there from the beginning. We're taking our first official trip in April, can't wait! Best of luck on your decision.
All I can really add is that she doesn't need to go topless...many ladies don't and no issues. She may or may not feel comfortable by the end...and you always have the quiet pool if you decide it's too much. The swinger/lifestyle thing you don't have to worry about...Many non-swingers go and those that do take 'no' very well It's an absolute riot and the "quality" of the hotel I don't think is really and issue. I've been to a Riu and was more impressed with TTR.
When we were discussing where to book in Cancun last year, someone mentioned Temptation. I checked out their website and said "no way, I'm not going there". Then researching something else I stumbled across this site, and completely changed my mind about the place. You'll love it. I don't know anyone who reads Cancuncare who had gone and then had a bad time!
Welcome to the group of party animals, we've all been bitten by the TTR bug, you guys will be too, just say hello to as many people as you can and enjoy your vacation like never before, you'll be sitting there thinking "wow why have we not know about this place earlier" Like the hotel says "NOBODY KNOWS YOU AND NOBODY GIVE A SHIT" You'll make tons of friends, and its not a swingers hotel its just swinger friendly. :anon:
OK, OK, I can't take the peer pressure anymore. We're coming! Not sure on the dates yet but it's looking like late February, whenever kids spring break is and I can find someone to watch them for a week. Seriously though, thanks everyone for the terrific feedback and those of you who sent me PM's as well. It really helped make our decision. Look forward to reading and participating in the forums for the next couple months to learn more!
