Have to say I was nevrr a fan of the FJ cruiser....Until We were on safari in Kruger National Park in S.A. and we were in a Land Cruiser for multiple days. With hungry packs of lions, rhinos, leopards all around and rugged terrain, and riverbeds, sitting or travelling in an open air vehicle, you put a lot faith in the 4x4 capabilities of the lifeline you are driving. We were sure impressed with the maneuver s that thing could perform and its dependability during the courss of that 4 day safari. Actually blew us away how nimble and agressive that Toyota was The tacoma is a real looker...especially in blue. I still need a full size 1/2 ton, even if Marilyn says it is more ego than function. She feels guarding against wuss-factor is an issue. 'You don't look stupid leaning on puny gunwhales when you guys meet in town for coffees. You can borrow your brothers Silverado or your dad's when you really need a bigger truck, but you don't wanna lean over puny gunwhales." Has no idea how much I do with my truck, pulling, hauling, towing etc.
Yea the FJ really did kick ass. I was sad to get rid of it. I am hoping some cool car guy bought it at auction, did the basic repairs that were necessary, and is now using it for fun ripping up some trails, and it spends the rest of it's life covered in mud. As far as the needs for the bigger truck, yes most of my friends with trucks all have 1/2 tons, if they even give me shit for my truck being smaller, I will just pull down my pants.
Ya I got a 2017 demo Lariat......too good of a deal to pass up becuz they really wanted my King Ranch on trade-in. Free Sirius for 3 years, 6 free oil changes and weathertechs all around...but the sweetener was the salesman almost promised me he would take a referral from us to try out TTR....so I consider that a bonus! Took delivery last Thursday. Bad things are 5.4Litre, it's red (which I despise on A truck) and no sunroof (which I already miss)
You got a very rare truck if it's a 2017 with a 5.4 engine. Last year for the 5.4 in a F150 was 2010. T
