Trouble in Mexico for tourists?

    thats very true Several times woke up and didnt remember how we got back to the hotel, never had any problems :)

    hi rob,from what i have been reading of all your post "which is a bunch" i'll have to say that you are a class act and one hell of a partier. hope to get to meet you sometime.we seem to just miss one another everytime.

    definitely - hope you guys will consider new orleans reunion this year -looks like lots making it down = its just a hop skip and a jump down from gatlingurg, pigeon forge, and maryville (i think that is the name of that town we drove through in about 1974)

    We've been to cancun 4 times in the last 6 months, never a problem. If your not looking for places to get in trouble you probly won't. The Federal Police are everywhere

    Go have fun. Think about this, oil, tourism, and drugs may be the 3 main industries in Mexico. Don't you think if the drug cartels are causing problems with the tourism that something is going to happen to stop it. Cancun and Cabo are probably the 2 safest places in all of Mexico and safer than many places in the U.S.

    I was reading that two British tourists were shot dead in Florida yesterday:
    BBC News - British men shot dead on holiday in Sarasota, Florida

    As far as I'm aware not one single tourist of any nationality has been shot dead in Cancun, at least during the almost 7 years Ive lived here.

    Of course, if we all started saying dont visit Florida because of the violence against tourists there would be quite a few eyebrows raised.

    Actually would have to say don't visit the United States to be equal. :)

    Down town Atlanta is a lot scarier than Cancun.
