This will be our 7th trip to BBG/TTR, we've never had nor heard of a problem. We do travel in groups when we leave the resort, sometimes LARGE groups which could intimidate the cartels HAHA! We always do register our trips with the state department just incase of some type of emergency. Only takes a few minutes. You can do it here...

    as a general rule.................

whenever you read a sensational headline of any type whatsoever

its probably best that you IMMEDIATELY (before rushing into an ignorant reaction) either

    (a) read the fine print underneath
    (b) ignore the sensational headline completely as their primary intent is to sell copies (see national enquirer)
    (c) consider the source of the "news"
    (d) look for the truth cause its certainly out there somewhere
    or
    (e) all of the above

after this you can make an informed decision on the facts

..........that is why we go to mexico every year for our vacations and avoid south oak cliff (here in the metroplex - just down the road a few miles)

    the best

I would be more worried to walk down the streets of the South Side of Chicago at mid-day, Than I would walking around Cancun at 3 a.m. in the morning (which I've done dozens of times).....:headbanger:

The media controls us, when they expand on a fact we all believe it, example was the Flu virus 2 years ago in May in Mexico, There was no flu in Cancun but if you went any where near Mexico you where going to be exposed to the virus!!! This proved to be a falsehood, so dont believe everthing the media says!

Really need I say anymore? Cancun is one of the safest cities you can hope to have a vacation in.

    Wtf?

Guys calm down! Didn't know I was stirring in a hornet's nest! Ive just never been and was simply asking a question. Thank you to everyone who answered my question NICELY. To the rest, politely excuse my ignorance for being worried as you put it.
