Sorry Steve, but here in Toronto its showing black thunderstorms and severe winds in Cancun. Mexico is, and always will be my favorite destination for the weather and the people so Im just hoping it all passes soon. Will the rain end by Nov 7th??? Im in need of Mexican sun Regards, Kelly Larkin
Not sure how Cancun looks from Toronto, I can only tell you how Cancun looks from Cancun The storm that affected the area over the last few days has moved on and is about to arrive in Florida. There are still a few remnants left behind - we had a thunderstorm this afternoon that lasted half an hour, but that was the first rain in 24 hrs. Wind has been from zero to 10mph today in downtown Cancun, definitely not severe. This kind of tropical storm cannot affect an area for weeks on end, it's a meteorological impossibility. The storm is constantly moving, often at a slow speed say 10mph but over a day thats 240 miles and over 2 days its 480 miles. Given that a storm can be several hundred miles in size it will take a few days for it to pass through any particular area in it's entirety. It's impossible to predict weather for 7th November, there may well be several more storms that have come and gone by then, and there may or may not be one around during your stay. At this time of year weather is a risk you have to take and just have to cross your fingers and hope. Remember to check the live Cancun webcam - it will always give you a good idea of current weather conditions (during daylight).
Indeed! This storm didnt even get officially classified as a storm - just a tropical depression. Let alone reaching Hurricane status. 6 years ago tomorrow was when the first alerts went out for Hurricane Wilma, I remember it well. Now, that was what you call "scary weather": [ame=""]Coco Bongo & Wilma - YouTube
Thanks Steve, I appreciate your insight as you are in the heart of Cancun I guess rain or shine the party will live on. I should prob stop assuming the weather on the net is accurate. No rain in 24 hrs sounds like the end is near Again thank you!!!!
I dont get it why are you worrying about something you can't control!! Just go with the flow rain or shine and and make the best of your holiday
Because my idea of a vacation is laying in the sun allllll day then partying all night once the sun goes down. Plus my skin is in dying need of a tan. I understand weather is impossible to predict but Im staying hopeful. Live webcam looked nice today.
You get over 70% of the suns direct rays on a completely overcast day. In other words, if it's raining you can still tan...and still burn. I know, cause after 4 days of rain and clouds I had a bunch of burnt ppl in the hotels. The sun doesn't go away when it rains...it's still there zapping you with its harmful ray; you just can't feel it.
I agree Kelly Cat !!! when we are on vacation I / we hope like hell for hot dry weather. I dont want to pay for crappy weather, I agree, that if, that is what your delt, than you must make the best of it. However if i wanted a cooler vacation we would do something around home !!!
SO TRUE MAXXEDOUT Im from Toronto and our weather here sux. I just hope for the best and deal with whatever we r dealt with. As long as there is booze then I can have fun anywhere,,, altho the hot burning sun does help in a big way
