No sign of any bad weather as yet. I'm starting to think we may well not see any signs of Gustav at all. Hopefully the sea will be calm enough and the booze cruise will run tomorrow.
That's amazing , I was looking at the water vapor http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/east/watl/loop-wv.html and it looks so close to you guys there . It's a Cat 4 storm now and pounding Cuba . Hopefully the seas will be calm enough tomarrow for the booze cruise . Wish we were there , have fun
Oh well, I must have spoke too soon. The wind has just got up it's raining and there is thunder in the distance.
The rain didnt last long, about 20 minutes and it was fine again. Now the skies are clear, stars are out and it looks like it will be a nice day tomorrow. Unfortunately, we just got word that as a precautionary measure all maritime activities have been cancelled for tomorrow - which means the booze cruise wont go ahead. I'm going to see how many people will be able to go the following day and if we can we'll go Monday instead.
Steve, if Tuesday turns out to be the better day let us know sometime today we would love to go unfortunately we don't get there till a little after noon tomarrow so we can't go Monday  anyhow we're all glad you guys didn't get much off this storm..
Looks like we are going today after all. The harbormaster has just lifted the restriction but most of the catamarans including the one we were scheduled to use are still at Isla Mujeres where they were taken to shelter from the storm. We have found an alternative catamaran, it had no bookings because of the cancellations and was going to sit idle today so it's worked out just fine. Not a cloud in the sky and barely any wind.
