All this moisture coming up out of the Gulf is going to push off to the east and hit Altoona. Good luck to all those traveling this week!
As you can see from the graphic, things are looking much better for Cancun than it was a few days ago. Cancun is now completely out of the cone, which means there is currently zero chance of the storm passing directly over Cancun. The storm is now predicted to make landfall in Belize some 400/500 miles south and not to reach Hurricane status until it has crossed the Gulf. The storm a few days behind it, Tropical Storm Florence, is also of no threat to Cancun.
See ya on the 14th, Steve. In Cancun. On the Boobs Cruise. I have my whipped cream. Stacia's got her boobs. And, I burned all her bikini tops. Handled.
The best way to ensure you will not get hit in a hurricane is to have you be right in the middle of it's path at an early stage from what I can tell. Glad it's missing you guys!
Very happy to hear the landfall is expected much further south! From our experience last Oct. the wind can make a mess of the beach and close the pool/restaurants, but that is much better than having to evacuate or endure structural damage! Once it passes, they can clean everything up pretty quickly, and then be eternally thankful it wasn't another Wilma!!! I feel bad for people on the Mayan Riveria, but hopefully it will be short-lived since it is moving fast! I would think flooding with a slow-moving storm would be a much greater concern with a Cat 1 or strong tropical storm, so all good news for the people in that area
