Sorry for posting here, but it wouldn't let me do it on the Review page.
Holiday started on the 29th September, meeting up with our friends for dinner, after an excellent meal, bed time. Set of to the airport early morning on the 30th September to meet up with the other couple in our party and 6kgs of sweets, Excellent flight with Thomas Cook, weather in Manchester on departure was beautiful blue skies. Arrived in Cancun 10hrs later…….rain. No problems at airport, apart from funny little button you have to press, but uneventful and straight through. Excellent transfers with USA. Arrived at Temptation, smooth check in, was looking forward to some spiel from time share, but nothing. Asked on an upgrade, price of $50 per night for the 14 nights, so off we went to look at both rooms. The upgrade jacuzzi room, wasn't as nice as the standard, so we stuck to what we had, room 1314, overlooking the quiet pool, with a lovely view of the ocean. Room was well presented, immaculately clean and lots of space. Then off to Walmart to stock up with goodies.
Back at hotel we showered and changed and I think we ate in the buffet that night, 1st impressions, really nice food. Think this was the striptease night in Nice Shoes, good dancers but more titillation than striptease, good laugh all the same.Went to get changed for pimps and hoes night…….awkward moment when you walk into Patyo’s…..and no one else is dressed up! well, they'd seen us, so carry on regardless, eventually our friends turned up in outfits, and gradually a few more people.
Next day was our wedding anniversary, so a special day, spent the day by the sexy pool, then off to the foam party which was good fun. Ate that night in the Asian, lovely food and excellent company. Went to get changed for lingerie night, we missed the casino thing, and really don't get the fuss about this night, but each to their own. Then off to Patyo’s.
Next day off to the sexy pool….you can see a pattern starting here…..3pm was opening of the Beerfest (was either this day or the next) this was really good fun. And so the pattern continued…. eventually, throwing caution to the wind, we ventured to the beach, heaven!! I really do not know why people moan about it, how much beach do you need to lie on? plenty of loungers even though it was always busy, gorgeous ocean, calm and clean, waiter service, what more do you want? so a new pattern formed, beach till one, then to the pool after lunch, until it was nearly dark, a long dinner…...then Patyo’s which by the 5th night was starting to wear a bit thin. Then we escaped on the Boobs Cruise, I seriously would recommend this, excellent day, it is up to you how much you drink, if you want water, it is not a problem, or soft drinks, weather was amazing a good lunch on the Island and a swim in the ocean, and back to the resort, Steve and his team make sure you have a great day. Landed back with OH rocking a green mankini, into the pool, until a rather silly time, dinner and then……...yep…...Patyo’s. We did escape one night to Coco Bongos, worth every penny, I would have done this again, but didn't really get chance, it is excellent, and makes you realise what is outside the doors. So basically, that's how 14 days went.
So unless your bored now, a bit of a breakdown.
Rooms, excellent, lovely and clean, plenty of hot water, and excellent housekeeping service.
Restaurants, we ate in the Asian four times I think? twice with a reservation, and the Italian, four times, once with a reservation, Margaritas for lunch and dinner, jose knew our drinks as soon as we walked in, and the seafood restaurant once, which I really cannot remember. we missed dinner totally one night as we fell asleep, and ate in the buffet twice on an evening, maybe three times. Had one Patyos burger at 5am, which I really wish I hadnt, enough said on that one.
Bars, didn’t use the sports bar, pool bars were good.
Patyo’s, yep for four nights, its great, then it starts to get bit boring, the music is ok, the band was ok, but on too long, along with the violin player, 30 mins great, after that urgh. What we both think the resort is missing is an alternative bar that stays open until 2am, where you can socialise with good background music. Patyo’s is no good for this unless you can lip read. Music finishes in here about 2am then it thins out. Cigar lounge is closed, and a wasted space, Nice Shoes, nothing really nice about it, like been in the back room of a working mens club.
Beach, covered that above. Pools are lovely, but the sexy pool gets suspiciously warm around 4pm, cringe at the thought.
Water, drank Iced water from the bar all day until about 3pm everyday, with no issues, and most of the night in Patyo’s, didn’t drink water in room.
A/C worked fine. I am dubious as to wether chest problems are from this, or from how cold the restaurants are, then going into the warm air outside. We did switch our aircon off on a night, but I struggled breathing wise towards the end of the holiday.
Pool entertainment was funny, but repeated on a weekly rotation, as was Nice Shoes. Dancers were excellent.
Staff were all lovely, apart from one, misery in the buffet on a morning, which one out of that many staff is good going. Reception staff lovely and helpful.
Security, seriously, like going out with your parents! continuous overwhelming presence in Patyo’s incase a nipple should escape.
So, Loved - Mexico, the beach, the resort itself, the staff, the restaurants, the pools, sexy pool after lunch, Pina Coladas and Margaritas.
Not so keen on having Patyo’s as the only late evening option.
Met some lovely people who we enjoyed spending time with, met other lovely people who we would like to have spent time with, but were leaving the next day. A lot of people seem to go for short breaks. Spent lovely time with our friends and laughed a lot. We loved being in the sexy pool around 3.30pm onwards, really good atmosphere and great for socialising. We didn’t really find the resort ‘wild’ in fact we thought it was really quite tame, the being topless isn’t really a big issue for us either as the majority of beaches/resorts in europe are topless, it’s more like a 24/7 Ibiza.
Would we go back? maybe for a cheap winter sun holiday one day

Glad you guys had a good trip. Totally agree with everything you had to say. I also can't handle PatyO's every night, all night, and would much prefer an alternative. An outside lounge with cooler chill music would be nice. I a not even a club guy at home. My next trip in May I might try to go into the sports bar at night sometimes.

As far as the wildness, I do agree it can be tame, but then again it can get wild. That really depends on the groups. Sometimes talks on this site might over-hype it, but sometimes the wild stories are completely accurate. It definitely comes down to a roll of the dice. Unless you know you are going right in the middle of when one of the crazy groups are there.

We thought of the sports bar, but its not really a place for relaxing, feel the cigar lounge is such a wasted space. We even did the odd 'fly by' past the sports pool, hoping to find something lively, but nothing much really.....although we did encounter the most amazing couple from Boston there.

Yea it is defiantly wasted space, and would be a bit more my style every other night or so. Two trips ago I feel like one night people were really partying around the sports pool, and they were serving drinks out of a window like bar by there. (I might have liked this more then PatyO's, but it is a very very fuzzy night for me, I could even have imagined it)

The most incomprehensible thing about the world is that it is comprehensible
