Damn, we're booked for end of Feb, but this resort does not sound like our cup of tee. I feel duped by the GOV marketing if your review is accurate, which I'm sure it is given all the similar reviews
Thanks for the great review of your trip. After reading several of these, I am starting to discern a pattern...... I am still waiting to read one of these where a few ccc people starting a revolt amongst the resort of almost 700! I really hope it happens and soon. Easy to say your gonna make it a crazy party, but if the resort stops you, you stop. Or be led out by security.
1. 100% occupancy = $$$ 2. Bar close at 1am = $$$ 3. Few people in the pool = $$$ 4. Few people at the pool bar = $$$ 5. Unorganized theme nights = $$$ 6. No heavy security late at night = $$$ 7. Guests leaving the grounds for fun = $$$ 8. Minimal entertainment = $$$ 9. Long lines for a drink = $$$ 10. 100% OCCUPANCY!!!!! = $$$ If I were an investor or owner of GOV, I'm not sure I'd make any changes that us TTRers would like to see. Looks like we just may be getting what we pay for...
One of the few non-fun times we had in Jamaica was when a group of Russians (Eastern Europeans) showed up. Just really put a damper on everything. We got behind this one guy who ordered 4 omelettes and he was eating alone !!! Their girlfriends told me I had a "strange" accent for someone from Georgia !! (Wrong Georgia)
I just reliezed I booked my split vacation in the wrong order. Relax / Party My expectations were not that high, I,m used to stuff being oversold . Nice beach, adults only no snow, I can live with that, now I just need a :read: I guess the change over is a CC secret.
The resort has two web sites, one describing adult only but a quiet resort not allowing "Spring Breakers" and no mention of topless pools. The other one describes the "Spicey" atmosphere and topless pools. Google Oasis Viva and get Oasis Viva - Cancun - Oasis Viva Beach Resort - Oasis Viva with a notice not allowing Spring Breakers. Google Grand Oasis Viva and get Grand Oasis Viva - Cancun - Oasis Viva Hotel & Resort and get a very different description. So which is it? The people need to know what type of resort it is, whether your a partier and just want a relaxing vacation.
We were laughing at their "Hip Resort" reference. Spicey is also a long shot for what it is right now. The staff seems to think it's already wild and crazy. I'm not sure what is happening to make them think that....

I am sooooo disappointed. We are booked for end of feb and I fully expect to be bored an annoyed at this point.
