That's exactly what we think. They want to make it very known that they want to be NOTHING like Temptation. You get that feeling immediately when you get there, and I think anything other than just being topless will not be tolerated.
not our cup of tea..sounds like every resort in Cancun we stayed at until we discovered TTR...thanks for the trip report and it sounds like trip reports i've posted on Trip Advisor for Riu Cancun, Grand Oasis Viva, Barcelo TuCancun and The Royal.. I think it just to big for it ever to be adults only
That's what's i've thinking all along n until i hear reviews of fun adult parties happening day n night i will stick with TTR
We are booked for the first week of May and wanted a more quiet atmosphere but want some night life and fun during the day. Did you see Sara69 the old entertainment Director from TTR ? I thought she has started at Viva? I was hoping she would make a change in the entertainment.
We did speak to her. She was the one that told us specifically that they do not want the same atmosphere as TTR and have no intention of it being anything like TTR. We really just saw her walking around the resort and meeting with the entertainment staff, but didn't see her put on or be part of any kind of show at all. Not saying she doesn't but we didn't see any while we were there. She did say there would be changes to come and she is working with management about future entertainment, themes, etc.
Since we met you while "just grabbing a drink at TTR," we know you know what you're talking about! Thanks for being pioneers to GOV and for taking the time to write up such a detailed trip report. We were under the impression that GOV wanted to be more like Temptation, which we considered excellent news, but instead it sounds like they're actively trying not to be like Temptation. If you have no poolside activities and you close all the clubs and bars at 1:00, you're telling the party crowd to go elsewhere. OK, we will.
Thanks for the report. Glad the hear the resort itself is nice. As for the atmosphere, GOV is obviously still caught between appeasing their old clientele and bringing in the new. Even though it's not a "spring break" resort.......I think the crazy period of Feb-Mar will help the changeover along. Either way, we'll be there.......ready & willing to test the waters just like you guys. Thanks again.
