Yeah, thanks for taking the time to file a trip report.

In your earlier posts you were pumped for your vacation so I'm sorry it didn't pan out for you.

As others have pointed out, TTR isn't a place to go with a fine dining critique point of view. As a business traveler I get my share of fine dining.

I imagine the logistics of putting together three buffet meals, daily, and trying to satisfy the palates of guests from a wide variety of background, is difficult to say the least. IMO, TTR's offering is in line with the 3-4 stars they receive.

I think the À la carte restaurant's, particularly the Oriental and Italian are exceptional for a resort in this class.

5+ star resorts will offer higher end alcohol than TTR. They also offer higher end prices.

TTR is a great sized resort, not too big and not to small. It's well laid out and clean and attractively decorated.

What makes TTR the great experience regulars find addictive is the terrific people the resort attracts and the wild, fun, accepting atmosphere.

Well you have the exact attitude and apparent personality to become a long term repeater, careful the resort and the people do become addicting...as you said, even after all the years and friends I made there, it was what every one from here did for me that reminded what I would be missing out on if I didnt go. . I sometimes dont even remember that there is Fine dining restaurants at TTR, Heck, last year I was just carrying dinner rolls in my pockets so that I didnt miss a beat with all the people... I guess that was the one part of her trip report that offended me, not to expect sophisticated conversation at TTR..Ive met some of the greatest people literally from all over the world at that 3 star place, ive talked to some of the greatest people over those bland dinners she mentioned lol.. and most of all ive gotten plastered drunk with some of the best people from all over the world .NO one cares there if your dumb or smart, broke or rich, political or not, gay or straight , fat or skinny..If your a fun person that is there to do just that, then your going to have the time of your life and meet great people.. If your there to get insider trading tips and talk business over a snifter of Dom Perignon this is not the place for you.. If your there to make friends and talk dirty over a body shot.. then Id recommend temptations any day. :) mY humble opinion of course

Did you come here to make friends or waves? I feel a tsunami coming on now. Thanks for your honesty but we love the resort and I fully enjoy being overserved by Tiger, Javier, Danny, Johnny, Alfredo, and all the others. Some of the best bartenders I know.

I remember this one time being overserved at TTR, I felt kind of funny like I was going to fall over when walking. I know crazy isn't it?

It is remarkable to me how different some peoples opinions are from mine. I don't know if I could handle being a foodie. For me as close to a foodie as I will ever be is finding a perfect steak. And I am happy for that. Simplicity is king in my world. I have no problem discussing politics in the pool, as long as I have a beer in my hand and someone forces a shooter onto me. Even though I can get away with expensing relatively expensive meals (think $35 to $40 steaks while I am away) I am happier if I can have a case of beer in my hotel room and get a cheap pizza. I like talking to the person next to me and finding out their story, about their favorite sports teams etc. I want my bartender to hand me a drink and say, "this is going to fuck you up". I want to stay up all night and wake up the middle of the next morning swearing I will never do it again until about 2pm when I force that first drink down and repeat the process.

But that's just me. I am sorry you didn't enjoy your trip but as I am sure you are finding TTR is closer to the person I am than who you are. And gosh darn it, that's ok!
