Just another thought on all this, if a Trip Report like this wasn't written people that are looking for the same things in a holiday as New York Witty this report would give them somthing to think about. I for one couldn't imagine being at Temptations with a bunch of people that felt the way she did. I wouldn't want to be around a bunch of unhappy people.
So each to there own, many of us on this site love it and there others that would rather leave it.
I for one am glad she wrote it.

great post Deb. Those kind of reports can be valuable to all. But really the more I think about this it really was a train wreck from the beginning.

TTR's location is far removed from traditional mexican culture. The city of Cancun does have some amazing things happening just read the living in Cancun threads.

To have the local culture, ruins and intimate dining with social intrigue one of the smaller euro resorts in the mayan would have made WAY more sense.

Wow... I step way from the forum for a day and
all hell busts loose. I'd like to apologize for my generalization about your wanting to lay by the pool reading your iPad. It seems I read you wrong. Perhaps if you'd done your homework better, you'd have chose a resort closer to your cultural destinations and more suited to your foodie palate. There are plenty of places on the Mayan Riviera that would have met your expectations betterthan TTR.
That said, I'd like to comment on a few things...
    1) The food and drink in my opinion are moderate at best. I've had both good and bad meals, But with a little trial and error I can find something I like at each restaurant. Did you try the Marco Polo prawns? Really good. I'm surprised you found a good wine. I live in the Willamette valley and excellent wines are the norm here. I've yet to find a wine I like at the resort.
    2) Chinos... Cut the man some slack. He is a great guy once you get past the tattoos and piercings. Did you take the time to talk to him when he isn't in what o call his "show mode"? Doubtful. He performs to a different crop of drunken guests weekly. Of course he is repititious and mechanical. But the truth is the place isn't the same without him. I been when he worked elsewhere.
    him.
    3) if you were looking for stimulating conversation, all you needed to do was seek it out. Some guys are interested and capable of commenting on how nice your shoes are while staring at your breasts. Seek and you will find.

My advice to having a fulfilled vacation is to not dwell on the negatives, engage everyone in conversation, participate in every activity you can day and night, let your hair down, get your drink on sensibly, take time to get to know some of the staff, don't be judgmental, check your inhibitions at the door, get laid and embrace the party. If you do all this you going to have a great time at Temptation!!!
Life always fun when you're living at the Playground.

    Brad.

Brad if you want a real eye opener go to the thread starters profile. Click on statistics and review what threads were posted in pre trip. It seems to me that the picture is a little different. I don't get the single girls looking for pool and fun then and the cultural traveller now??

And I'll confirm this confirmation. We also just returned, and the folks there (new and experienced) could not have been more friendly and welcoming. If, after reading the forums and other reviews (positive and negative), you decide TTR is not for you, then at least you have made a more informed decision. I'll be the first to admit TTR isn't for everyone, but NOT because anyone is unwelcoming.

    =)

And I never meant to imply otherwise. He was one of the very friendly and welcoming folks to whom I was referring. :icon_mrgreen:

Well how about everyone doing their own homework reading the pre and post trip posts. Then they can make their own decisions!
