Since this site gave us so much information about Temptation I wanted to write a short trip report. We've been to Desire 5 times so obviously we compare a lot with both Desire Resorts. We're from the Netherlands (Europe) and it took us 14 hours by plane to get to Tempation (but with a 2 hour layover at Cuba). So instead of the usual week or 8 days in Mexico we now would stay 10 days at Temptation and 4 days at Desire RM. USA Transfers, as always, was perfect and on time. Private transfer for $ 98 for a 3 way trip is worth the money!!! We arrived at TTR around 7 PM and we expected our room not to be ready. They asked us if we wanted a quiet room and we got 1215 (first floor). It turned out not to be that quiet (next to cleaning staff suply room, next to stairs, constant noise of the Tex-Mex restaurants' airconditioning) but luckily I brought some wax earplugs and my wife always sleeps as a rock. View on the balcony was terrible, looking at the back of the Tex-Mex restaurant. We visited friends of us who had a room in the same building on the ground floor. They had a nice view on the quiet pool and garden and they got upgraded so they had a jacuzzi on the balcony (probably because they only stayed one night). The room was nice and big enough, closet space was limited. Sexy lights were nice and sensual. Safe worked perfectly. TV reminded me of the 80's (picture quality). Bath room was pretty decent allthough waterpressure was not always sufficient. The "Timeshare" Lady tried to talk us into the sales pitch but we politely declined. We said that we done it 4 times allready and that we only would be interested if we won the lottery. Probably because we were her last customers she didn't push to hard to convince us. On this holiday we again talked to some people who got a timeshare and the differences in prices they paid (for sometimes the same number of nights) were sometimes substantial. I'm a bad negotiator so I'm glad I always said NO! Let's break the report in segments: THE FOOD Breakfast and lunch at the buffet restaurant were good enough with lots of choice. Dinner there was a bit repeating itself after a couple of nights. The Italian was our favourite. We ate there twice. Very nice atmosphere. The filet mignion was delicious. We also loved the Tiramisu and don't forget to ask for the sexy coffee! The Caribean restaurant was also very good and we loved the lunch at the Tex-Mex. The Asian restaurant was only impressive by it's view and presentation of the food. THE BARS The bartenders work their asses off (at the sexy pool surrounded by many bees) and they poor a lot of liquor in it (I would say too much but I don't want to get virtually lynched ;-)) Because of the large cups most people bring and the large amount of shots they sometimes (but more as the afternoons progresses) have to make it might sometimes take you a bit longer to get back with your drinks but it's a happy environment to wait and watch around. The Barcrew make their own tips. If a guy runs the bar himself, all the tips in the jar are his. Of course they share all the tips if they run it with a few guys. So tip these hardworking guys! Pesos or Dollars, they really don't care! And even if you don't they'll still be your your best friends. After all, you might be tipping them at the last day of your stay instead of frequently during the day. THE ENTERTAINMENT (CREW) First of all: Sarah69 is the best entertainer we have ever met. Besides that she is a very nice person to talk to she knows how to work and motivate the crowd. She's funny and knows just how far she can go regarding making fun of the guests. We met her boyfriend Cuco at Desire who is the head of entertainment there and he's just as entertaining, friendly and professionel. Of course we liked Olga (the sexy twerking russian girl) also. And Manuel was also funny (hey senor, behind you! Ieguana). We won't name the last member because he acted like a complete asshole sometimes. After making fun of my Speedo at a pool game even the crowd turned at him. Thnx everybody for the support after my attempt to finish the baby bottle with beer in 59 seconds in some poolgame I got sucked into! But the stupidist thing he did was calling someone a pussy at the beer olympics because he gave up after having allready drinking 3,5 cups of beer in the bloody heat. Great respect for the guy to stick to his decision that enough was enough. First this crew guy has to beg the guys to participate to join the games and then he treats them so shitty. So if others see that they will be even more reluctant to participate in other games. Fun and games have their limits. But all the other games were fun to watch and I even won the music quiz! I played a lott of volleyball with some fun and nice people. Oh and the second foam party with the large Coco Bongo rubber duck (which bounced over 2 hours over the heads of everybody in the sexy pool) and the coco bongo girls was the bomb! Good music also. THE BEACH: Very beautiful beach! We went into the sea almost every day for half an hour or so. Very nice water temperature. More than enough beach chairs and beds because most people hang by/in the pool. The volleyball court was better than at Desire but they should check for the rocks which are burried there and sometimes surface. THE POOLS: The quiet pool is a good alternative for the people who like to relax or sleep. We only walked by it on our way to the Italian Restaurant. The sports pool is perfect for the sports activities (a volleybal can hit you quite hard if you're not not playing and paying attention) and foam party. The sexy pool is the perfect place to hang during the day. Only a bit dissapointing that the jacuzzi's don't work properly. The swimup bar is the best part of the sexy pool. We didn't even make an attempt to reserve a poolchair. I read on this forum that some people get up for it in the early morning. May I say that that's crazy. And the pool chairs are not used for more than 5% at the same time. Most people use them to store their stuff. In Europe we blame the Germans for this phenomenon of reserving pool chairs. ;-) THE GYM: Nice airconditioned gym with enough variety in options to work out. NIGHT TIME: The shows at night vary from fantastic (like the erotic dance show at the sports pool), to hilarious (karaoke), to sexy (stripacts) to a bit sad (a guy with a keyboard who was just karaokeeing his way to popular songs). The DJ's also vary but that was also a good thing so that the songs varied more than with only one (resident) DJ. Allthough all seemed to want to see the American crowd do the stepping dance moves on the Cha cha slide, Watch me (Nae nae etc) and one song I didn't know. As Europeans it was fun to watch this Urban linedancing. ;-) THEME NIGHTS: On our first night we thought we made the wrong choice to bring so much outfits and accessoiries fo the the theme nights. There was only one other guy dressed in the BDSM-theme. Fortunately the second week there were many more so it depends on which groups and people are staying at that time. The other nights I guess that particpation in the theme nights from either Cancuncare or Temptation was around 30% but on white and lingerie night more like 60%. Probably because those themes are easier and not so Mardi Gras-like. We participated in 9 of the 10 theme nights. Sadly there are too much guests (even couples) who sit around at Patty O's without smiling, not dancing and sometimes making fun of people's costumes. They should have their own place/bar or move to a family resort ;-). It's a plus that you don't have to walk far for a snack but sometimes the wind made Patty O's smell to much like a McDonalds. But I heard that they are planning to change Patty O's. THE PEOPLE: We talked to a lot of people. Usually in the sexy pool but also in the sportsbar. Everybody was really nice and most of them even knew The Netherlands and some of them even visited our little country. We didn't spoke to a lot of people who were also on Cancuncare. It was also quiet hard to recognize people from their profilepic. There were also some couples who got bumped up to Desire Pearl because Temptation was overbooked so we never saw them there. A big difference between Temptation and Desire is that Desire is so small that you know almost everybody in a couple of days. At Temptation you might talk to somebody once and then you might not see them anymore unless they have the same routine as you do. Playing volleyball is also good to get to know people. Oh, and wearing a Miami Dolphins cap is also good for either some high five's or some condolences. LOL! SINGLE GUYS: We met a few decent single guys (shout out to Michael from England!) but I must say that I would not let my wife wander alone through the resort (for example: to get something from the room). A few times I saw some disturbing actions by a single guy. But luckily not so bad that my evening was ruined, WIFI: Of course it's crazy that they don't have decent WiFi but I most say that it was also quite relaxed to have no social media for 10 days. Overall verdict on temptation: It's a nice and beautiful adult-only resort. We stayed for 10 days and we have to be honest that for us that was to much. After a week partying and drinking more than we are used to (without overdoing it) we were ready to move to Desire for our 4 days there but we still had 3 days left in Temptation. We definitely would visit Temptation again but not for more than 7 days and not before Desire. Before we went we couldn't understand why some people only come for 3 or 4 nights but if you don't have to fly too far it makes sense now. But we also met people who were there for 2 and even 4 weeks (WOW!). But it's nice to have a a cheaper alternative for Desire because I think we could never stay at a family hotel anymore ;-) (my apologies if my English is not flawless. Read the Temptation safety thread. Unfortunately some single guys ruin things after they add alcohol into their systems. Instant asshole. Some have read Trip Advisor reports of all day orgies, that the resort is full of swingers, they think because a woman tans topless she's loose and craves what they have in their board shorts and when she says no she really means not where my husband can see so follow me over to that place over there and we can get it on. Those are the ones that fuck it up for the single guys that come down who wish to have a good time, share a few laughs and are great company there are a few of those who are on this forum. You guys know who you are. So for newbies that are single if you want to be the great single guy know that a lot of couples go down to be with one another to enjoy a holiday and have fun at an adult themed hotel. The husbands don't want you to pester their wives, the wives don't want to have you pester them and if a guy says buddy you're annoying my wife fuck off then fuck off. Don't puff your chest up and start things. If the couple swing then guess what one out of the couple will let you know that the option is there if you're polite and act like a gentleman. As I said there are numerous single guys on this forum that come down and are just that gentlemen and there'd never be an issue where someone would feel nervous with them around or the Mrs. might need to be escorted at all times unfortunately there will always be one or two CREEPERS that'll ruin things because they're gods gift to women it's just that the women don't realize it so I better knock them on the head and drag them back to the room caveman style and show her a good time and that guy she's with doesn't compare to me. Ok off the soap box now.
Thnx! You're very welcome. We saw some unauthorised boob grabbing. Just because a woman wears pasties or nipple jewelry doesn't give you the right to pinch a passing girl. He probably would not have done that if he was alone there without the "strength" of his wing men. And of course alcohol has everything to do with it. And why are 90% of the people who have to be warned by the staff for taking pictures at the sexy pool single guys? But we don't wanna bash all single guys just because of a few rotten appels! Most of them now the concept and etiquette of TTR There is more drinking and (wild) partying then at Desire so after 10 days of Temptation we had a hard time getting into the more erotic vibe at Desire. If we could go back in time we would have done Desire first for 4 days then do Temptation (but we probably would spend the first couple of days taking it slow and maybe spending some time at the Graveyard :icon_cool: )
It was very nice to have met you guys! We've been to Miami for vacation probably 8 times now and we visited 4 Dolphin's games. Tomorrow I'm watching their London game live on the BBC. One of the few opportunities for us Europeans to watch a game live.
The only other male entertainer when we we there was JJ, and I hope you weren't referring to him? We think he's great, and it seems that most people agree. I'm not saying you can't have your own opinion of him, I'm just saying that I hope it's not him you're talking about. Whoever it is, you can name him, because these forums are for both good and bad reviews of the resort.
Well, I can only comment on how he was when we were there in September. Maybe he had a bad 10 days but believe me when I say that during this period he was not a happy camper and he took it out on the guests and even his co-workers.
