Got back just in time for more snow!!! No issues getting there, used Best Day transfers. Got to the resort and thought the bump was coming. They couldn't find our reservation! Glad I had printed out not only a copy of our first one but of the second reservation after they bumped us for the Hanson world tour. They did find a room for us but heard later that a few couples did get bumped to Great that came in later that day and a few days later. Amazing when I gave the name of the person I talked via a phone call to the resort they acted like they didn't exist. Anyways, the food was good, no complaints. Service again was good to excellent. They have ramped up the entertainment from 4 years ago. They charge $15 a day for internet but found free WIFI on the beach probably from Secrets next door. Beach is totally different from 4 years ago. they brought in a lot of sand but it makes for a steeper walk on the beach. They do need more shades for the beach chairs and if you don't get your towel down early you're out of luck. Found best to go down at 7:30 then go to breakfast. Don't try to find a chair after eating. 3 times they said they would have a poker tourney or roulete but it never happened. Not a big loss, more time for drinking. Tried as hard as I could to get a buzz on and Jose and Fonzie made a grand effect Sat. night but after a good 20+ drinks in 3 hours I gave up. Wife was feeling it after a few. Still have that strange issue that my body won't absorb much alcohol. Did find out what happens when I drink too many Blue Hawaiians. First time I ever peed blue. Did see some rooms being fixed up with new Tv's, our frig didn't work though and after 3 requests I gave up on it. Hot tub was rocking a few times with some adult action. Over all was a nice vacation. One UK couple that we met did have their new high end sun glasses stolen. They were a bit upset on how security handled it. With all the drinking my wife and I did never woke up with any hang over. We brought a large empty 32oz gatorade bottle with us empty to get through the airport. Picked up the gatorade powered packets and used 2 in a bottle and drank that before going to bed each "morning". Felt great every day. It even took on the Mexican Viagra!!! If you don't know what that is ask for a shot at the bar. Tipping at meals and about 2 out of 3 drinks for an average. Hard to keep track when if they knew you were tipping you never had to order a refill. It was in front of you before yours was empty. Sometimes had 2-3 in front of us. If they made one up for someone and there was half a glass over it came our way. Sorry for jumping all over but still noticed that my right hand can't seem to type as well as it did before we went. Hard to even use a computer mouse all day. Killed off too many brain cells????:ernaehrung024:
Thanks for the trip report. Do you have any reviews on the restaurants/bars? At night did the Tiki bar get crazy or would you advise other bars? Thanks again!
Thanks for the Trip Report. We have a couple questions: How late in the day did you arrive? Asking because our flight gets in @ 3:26 pm(was 2:26, but they changed the time zone), so we should be at the resort by 4:30-5:00. Really don't want to be bumped. Please elaborate on "Hot tub was rocking a few times with some adult action."!! How was the Tiki bar, as far as being risqué? We plan on bringing some AIWC!
Thanks. I Although we were not there that week I can tell you that the party is up to you and the food is much better than most AI. We have seen the hot tub rock or absolutely nothing. Thanks for the report.
al la carte Just wondering if they changed the policy on reservations. You never needed them before, now the site shows you need them. An y feedback would be appreciated. Looking at booking in April. Thanks
I believe that only one was a stickler on reservations and that restaurant required pants for the men.
We didn't need a reservation the night we went at the shang, just the dress code. Place was very cold. Guessing around 60 degrees. Other than the fancy one we mainly went to the barn. Overall they had the best food and service. Pier was good just not to many tables. We tried to eat early so there was more time to drink after. Tiki was what you made of it and depended on the crowd. There was some skinny dipping, top less action and some more adult action in the hot tub. We didn't go to the sushi place. Forgot we got into Cancun about 10:30am. There were lots of people late afternoon. I think it was more packed due to all those that got bumped due to the Hanson crap and rebooked one or 2 weeks later. Funny thing is I didn't post this trip report on here!!! It was on tripadvisor!!
Just booked Just booked Golden Parnassus out of Toronto for one week leaving April 11th. Anybody else booked at that time. 4th trip there, can't wait. winter is way too long.
