DAY 3 ~ SATURDAY We woke up at 6:30, anxious to see the sun, and start our day. We went to Pelicanos for breakfast again. The food and the service are great, and how could you NOT love the view? MIMOSAS!!! Would you like a tour? I am standing at the end of Constituyentes Avenue with my back to the beach. On the right is the ROYAL, and on the left is the GRAN PORTO REAL ... Facing the beach, this is the unused pier ... This is the Gran Porto ... The Gran Porto beach ... The Royal beach ... Beach beds at the Royal ... Beach at the Royal ... I walked back to the pool and found Ditzy and Mitzy on their lounge chair ... We invited them to go for a walk with us, but they wanted to wait for pool aerobics, so they stayed at the hotel. Since our last trip to Playa we have been dreaming of arrachera steak at HC Monterrey, so we decided to go out for lunch. We took a walk down Constituyentes Avenue, and finally, we're here!!! Here's Norb, waiting anxiously for his lunch ... Here's the grill where the magic happens ... And, it was totally worth the wait!!!! That steak is sooooo tender and tasty, and the baked potatoes are delish! 2 steak dinners and 2 diet Cokes ... only $22.00! After stuffing ourselves we went across the street to Mega, a super market. Right inside the door, rows of poinsettias ... The plants' association with Christmas began in 16th century Mexico, where legend tells of a young girl who was too poor to provide a gift for the celebration of Jesus' birthday. The tale goes that the child was inspired by an angel to gather weeds from the roadside and place them in front of the church altar. Crimson "blossoms" sprouted from the weeds and became beautiful poinsettias. A look around Mega ... YUM!!! ... The booze section ... Time to go back to the beach for an afternoon nap ... We went back to our room to shower and dress for dinner, and this is what greeted us ... Tonight we went to the Asiana restaurant for dinner. You don't need to make a reservation here. We had wine, crab soup, sushi and, although it wasn't on the menu, the chef made us shrimp fried rice, and it was very, very good! I guess I was too hungry to take any pictures, but here's my dessert ... Tonight's entertainment was the Mexican show. We have seen variations of this show many, many times over the years, and we always enjoy it ... Such pretty costumes ... After the show we stopped in the lobby bar for a drink, and then back to our room ... GOODNIGHT!
