I'm heading down on Jan 2, with my wife, brother and his girlfriend. My wife is starting to get concerned about some of the issues with single guys being aggressive, and now the drinks. Especially because both the ladies are planning on participating in the lingerie activities! This will be the 3rd trip for my wife and I, and have never had any issues with singles. I just wanted to know from people that have recently been there, if this is really something to be concerned with or just a few random incidents?
We got back 2 weeks ago. I felt more comfortable than the 4 prior trips. The one thing I did notice however is that late night at (after 2-3am) Patio's seems to get a bit sketchy. We we always in a group of 3+ couples so it wasn't a big deal to us but if I were down there with just my wife I wouldn't be very comfortable. It wasn't much different than my frat days. Late at night there are a bunch of die hards that can't get laid and won't stop drinking. Inevitably the only option left is doing something stupid or causing trouble. As far as the incidents in this TR are concerned I suspect it is pretty isolated to a small group of idiots that happened to be there. Once they are gone they'll take the stupidity with them. Case in point, there is an idiot drug addict that lives near me that is breaking into houses. Once they catch him or he get shot in in the act the break-ins will stop.
I agree with jmg's take on it as above. If you are in PatyO at 2 or 3 and there seem to be troublemakers around, it might be a good time to call it a night.

Sorry to hear it wasn't all it could have been westtexas. Sounds like you made the best of it. We have spent many a december in Cancun and Playa and its amazing how cool it really can get. That scares me about the drinks. Of course it can happen anywhere....just glad you two are ok.
I always get my own drinks and never accept drinks from others. I had a real bad experience with a shooter a few years ago. Ended up losing most of the day and lost about three hours where I have no recollection of what I did or where or how I even got out of the water. All I know is what my husband said I did and what the bartender told me.
We did get our own drinks. That is what bothered us. The two in question, we stood right there, just not paying attention to the process of it being made. Thanks GCPS, we did have a very good time and it happens all the time everywhere!
No I'll just spend my money elsewhere. You know some place where my wife's drinks won't get spiked and she won't be solicited for sex by some horny single guy who has to pay money to fly to a resort to try to get laid.
