Sorry I haven't been around for a few days but I've been sick. I'm back now and can finish our trip report.
April 12th So we don’t get up and out of bed ‘til about 9am today. We are both extremely exhausted and somewhat hung over. However, while they do exist, I find hangovers to be very minimal compared to being back home in Colorado. We live above 7,000 feet in elevation back home so that may have a lot to do with it. Either way, I drank more the day before than I have in a very very long time (can we say college spring break 10 years ago?). On top of that, my wife wants me to buy a bottle of Aloe at the gift shop for her sunburn with was almost another $20 that we will only be able to use in Cancun—so make sure and tan before you go so you miss out on the pain (I told my wife to tan but she never did ‘cause she works full time and is in nursing school at nights) or use 50spf minimum sunscreen that is WATERPROOF. After we get our aloe and breakfast, we head to the pool. Of course we never reserved chairs this time and all were gone so we go to lie on the beach chairs. All of those were taken as well except for two! Sweet! However, after camping there for about half hour, we decide to go and crash in the room (boy did we ever drink it up the day before!). After a two hour nap we hung out by the sexy pool again and watched Christian put on more games which is always great. We got to know Christian a little and boy does that guy work a ton of hours! Not only is MC’ing and entertaining everyone all day, he goes with you at 10:30pm when the hotel takes everyone out to the specific club that night. He sat with us one night when we had bottle service at club sweet and always tried to make sure we were comfortable and answered any questions we had from things about the club or about the buses or whatever. He even tried to make us have fun at the club when we were getting tired. Christian made our entire vacation that much more memorable. So at the end of your trip, all he asks is to mention his name on the comments card you turn so we definitely did! After the pool, we got dressed in nice jeans and collared shirts for our reservations at the Italian restaurant. Jeans are just fine and even t-shirts if you wear a nice one, but you can’t wear sandals, flip flops, or shorts. I don’t know about hats. The food was very good. Just don’t order a Mediterranean salad (my fault) but the Caesar salad was amazing. The veal is just ok but the beef fillet mignon was great. Also, the asparagus soup and the marco pollo shrimp was amazing. Make sure some of your group orders the Mexican coffee. The server will put on a cool little fire show for you while he serves the drinks. It’s all included for you but our entire party definitely left tips that night. After dinner we got ready to go to CoCo Bongo. I had already been there but it was 10 years ago, and it’s only better now. If you never have been there, make this the one place you go out to for clubs at least. It was an amazing time. The performances there were fun and I thought it was amazing how there are no delays between acts. I was a little worried that we wouldn’t get too good of alcohol service but I was wrong. They came fast and often getting us drinks - hard to do in a place that big. It is only $50 pp, and that includes all drinks, the show, the music, club, and a ride to the place. I spend over $50 bar tabs at my small local bars all the time and don’t get jack for service. It is a great deal in my opinion. After a long night we bought a $9 large pizza from the kids selling them and took a cab home. Make sure you negotiate the rate before you get in the cab. Shoot even that was cheap. It was only $10 for 6 of us to get back to the hotel and way worth it. Well, I guess I’ll see ya tomorrow. It was my last day of the trip but I’ll give some more tips of what I went through on the last day.
I wish. I have been having terrible migraines for the last 4 days. Even had to go to bed at 6pm for the night one night. It sucks!
