Sorry so late for this trip report, seems I wasn't able to post. Anyway we had a great time at Golden Parnassus! Stayed for 10 days in the Oceanview club room with Jacuzzi. Loved Loved it! It was nice to sit in the sun all day, and then relax in the Jacuzzi before going out for the evening. My husband and I have always went to Temptations in the past (something like 8-9times). We decided to try some place different and heard good things about the Golden. Hammies posts were very helpful as well! We did nothing but relax! Had beautiful weather everyday 80's. Only bummer was we got sick with a cold. My husband got sick first and seen the hotel doctor, got two shots & antibiotics. We forgot, you can go to any drugstore in Mexico to get antibiotics. When I got sick that's what we did. Anyway, we made the best of it. You can be sick in your room, or sick on the beach! We seemed to like the Old Barn steak house the best, except they kept it way to cold. Sorry to say they other restaurants we we're to impressed with. We aren't big eater though. The buffet itself was pretty good, it has a lot of variety. A drink we liked while we were sick was Mango Tango. Drank a lot of them for vitamin C double rum ha ha! You can go to the other hotel Great Parnassus too while your there. Something I wish we had done, I hear the restaurants there are great. We hope to go back soon!:icon_biggrin:
Glad you had a blast!! Also glad that we were all able to help! sorry you got sick though!!! I hope to meet you guys there one day! Glad you loved it! <3
great Do you need to make reservations at great restaurants? does golden provide transportation? is it close?
no reservations. You can i think but generally we just walk up. I think one time we had to wait 15 minutes but it went by like it was 5. They provide free shuttle every hour from morning til 10pm i believe. It is about 2 miles or so. I've heard of people walking it on the beach. Just not before dinner hehehe.
Thanks Hammie! To all, read Hammie's posts she really does have a great deal of information. Hope to meet you too Hammie!
Awee thank you! lol I just really love Parnassus resorts! I always say if I win the lotto I am buying that place! What are your dates?
Hammie a couple questions for you if you don't mind. We are thinking of booking GP in July and are hesitant to abandon our regular resort. Not clear on supper at GP... is there a buffet at night or not? Also some rooms have fridges and some don't but if they don't they hand you some bottles of water upon check in or they are in your room or what ? Also it says the tiki bar closes at 2 a.m. so if it does is that it for the night nothing else open or nothing else to do ? Thanks........:icon_lol:
Sure... At dinner the paradise buffet is close. The options are Old Barn(a steakhouse), Sumo(Japanese/sushi), Shangri-La (Classy a la carte), and Pier 12(seafood). Pier 12 has a salad bar and a menu. The other places you order from a menu only. The food is great and if you don't like it or want more you can just get something else. It's unlimited. I do recommend the coconut shrimp from Pier 12. They do come in small portions but you can order and much as you want like I said! Shangri-La is DELICIOUS! Water: There is a gift shop that you can buy food/snacks in. Sometimes you get a water bottle. I think the maid might bring some? I can't remember. With a tip, you can ask the maid for pretty much anything lol. I do know that when our water bottles run out, there is a place downstairs by the buffet to refill it. I'm not big on water so I just ordered whatever from room service. The tiki bar does close at 2. I've seen people still on the beach or in the hot tub though. If you want more liquor they used to have the lobby bar but I can't remember if they kept it or did away with it after they did the renovations. There is the 60s bar but I think that closes at 2 also. There is ping pong, karaoke, adult games, and other fun stuff in there. Room service can bring you whatever you need if you want more liquor.
