I saw that! That's a cool one on cloth instead of paper. I think that's basically the poster they want. I'm sure a paper version would be acceptable --and much cheaper! I think I saw 41 auctions for this poster on ebay--if this is the poster they want. This poster features MJF looking at his watch as he's getting out/into the DeLorean. It is the most common poster I've seen when looking for BTTF part 1. If they want a poster with the professor's face on it, and it has to be from BTTF 1, I haven't seen that poster yet. I'm going to call the radio station for clarification, but I have to wait until tomorrow morning (Tuesday) because the afternoon radio guy doesn't know for sure.
Okay, you guys would not believe how I spent my afternoon. First of all, it was pouring rain all day. This is not typical in semi-arid Montana. I went to two auto salvage yards and slogged through ankle deep mud looking for "the bumpersticker." It was really creepy looking at totally destroyed cars with people's personal belongings still inside many of them! I really hated to see little kids' toys and blankets. I think every teenager who is about to get a driver's license should have to walk through one of these salvage yards! Makes you think about the fragility of life... Okay, enough of the macabre! I didn't find that blankety-blank bumper sticker. I bet I saw every radio station sticker EXCEPT for HOT 101.7! Didn't anyone listen to this station? Anyone? Apparently not, or maybe those listeners are just better drivers! Items for today: souvenir from Wall Drug (That's in South Dakota) ATM deposit envelope from Western Security Bank Windows 95 operating system disks Folks, I have every item except for the HOT 101.7 merchandise. I am working hard, shaking every tree, knocking on every door, etc., but so far, no luck. It's enough to give me a headache. Oh, and my car got momentarily stuck in the mud at the salvage yard. The guys laughed and me, but I got out, finally, and I think I might have flung a few clods of mud on those guys laughing at me! Oopsies! Stay tuned. There are now only 10 items left in this contest!!!
Well....any rules against counterfeit stuff? Or maybe the provider where they bought the stickers, t-shirts etc. Counterfeit sounds crooked, so use the term 'substitute'...you know...like cheese substitute, or the latest term 'generic'. Just an idea. Maybe the station can give you the name of the provider. Good luck. If you win you might want to use some of the $ to spend a weekend in Cancun.
Thanks for the ideas, Las Vegas! I'm sure they want the real deal. I have located the company that printed the t-shirt from Hot 101.9 (the new number) and they are checking to see if they ever printed t-shirts for the previous HOT 101.7. Maybe they still have the art? Then I think I could get the art from them or ask them to print one more shirt. I don't know. It's a super tough item! When this is all over, win or lose, I think a relaxing vacation in Cancun would be fun. I've been there three times and it was a great time.
Latest items: A "Garbage Pail Kids" trading card a 2006 Montana Women's Run t-shirt (a local event) Still working on the Hot 101.7 item. I have 97 of 98 items! Only 8 items left!
The "HOT 101.7" merchandise has been located! Whoo Hoo! I found a guy who used to work for this station and he has THREE shirts! He promised not to give any of the other two shirts away. SWEET! I am now looking for a Hard Rock Cafe t-shirt from Chicago! Anybody have one of these? I now have 102 out of 103 items! Three more items to be announced. This morning's item was a piece of coal. I hope they mean a charcoal briquet and not something I have to go mine out of the ground myself! We have a lot of coal in MT, but still, I'm a city girl and I don't want to get my hands dirty! We're almost done! We're going to win! I just know it!
Karan (KLAW) lives in Chicago...she might can help you out. I mailed the 2007 grad program today A piece of coal...I found this online: Where can I buy coal for personal use? The McKinley and Lee Ranch mines set aside some coal onsite to sell to individuals. Metallurgical coal, which can be used by blacksmiths, is no longer available in the state of New Mexico. The nearest source of metallurgical coal is the King Coal mine near Hesperus, Colorado (phone number (970) 385-4638).
also found: Presently, there are six major coal mines in Montana - five mining subbituminous coal and one mining lignite coal. The subbituminous coal mines are located in Big Horn, Rosebud, and Musselshell counties. They are: Decker Coal Co. at Decker, MT Spring Creek Coal Co. at Decker, MT Western Energy Co. at Colstrip, MT Bull Mountain Mine at Roundup, MT Westmoreland Resources at Hardin, MT The lignite mine is Westmoreland Savage Corp. at Savage, Montana, in Richland County on the Montana-North Dakota border.
