Thank you so much for this detailed breakdown. It's reassuring and sounds pretty simple...besides not failing the test! Lol We're in the same mindset as you to pay a little extra to buy time and give us a chance to flip around if it comes out bad news. We found out that our insurance had a coverage in case we tested positive but weren't sick so that's another plus. Only thing that would suck would be to stay in isolation and missing parties and obligations at home.
We're heading out in a few weeks and will be following this strategy. Test early and party like rock stars!
I was in Cancun Oct 1-6 at the Royalton Chic resort and we experienced normal resort life/fun (Group shots at the pool bars, lobby bars), dancing, foam parties and we tested negative. So now after that trip 98% of my apprehension about travelling and testing positive is gone. I mean there are still risks, but we did everything your supposed to do at a resort and we were fine. The nice thing was the Royalton had a nurse come to the resort to do the PCR testing for us Canadian's. It was $70US and we had the results at 6am the next morning. Can't wait to for my first Temptation Visit Nov 12-20, and there will be no holding back lol
This is kinda good news Link: Air Canada Offers Industry's Most Comprehensive Travel Testing Options in Partnership with Switch Health, Including Self-Administered Tests In summary...Air Canada is offering portable PCR tests u take with you and do in the presence of someone online before travelling home.. cost is around$150 (canadian!!) Per test. I say "around" because I think that is a discounted price for aeroplan members.
That is awesome news thank you for sharing that news! I just ordered my kit. I'll post in 3 weeks once I do my testing and let everybody know how it goes.
Hopefully WestJet does something similar. Be nice to have in place for our November 12-22 trip instead of hunting around Cancun to get tested.
While it's not "that" bad in Cancun (3 places across the street), I'd still rather have this option too!
We're booked with WestJet and hope something similar will come into effect within the next couple of weeks. Looks very interesting. Thanks for the good info!
