smh... Even with this information, the wife is ready to rebook somewhere else and there's pretty much nothing I can say to change her mind.
hear you guys - i just read this morning where this guy got shot about 1/4 of a mile from my house i think me and t are just going to stay in our house and become full time hermits - that should keep us safe the best rob
That's too bad. I just pulled this off the Canadian Press: It recommends Canadians "exercise a high degree of caution" when travelling to areas in northern Mexico along the border with the United States. But the cities in question are not generally where Canadians travel. Snowbirds flock to the idyllic beaches of the Mayan Riviera, Puerto Vallarta, Hualtuco and other resort towns. None of those locations were singled out in the travel report, although Cabo San Lucas and Acapulco are located in states that were mentioned - Baja California and Guerrero. "You can see that certainly the conventional tourist spots, the major tourist locations, don't have any more risk involved than at normal times," Peter Kent, Canada's junior foreign minister, said in an interview. Brad Miron, vice-president of business development at itravel2000, said people have to be careful not to paint the entire country with the same brush. He noted that the troubles in Ciudad Juarez are thousands of kilometres away from the swaying palm trees of Cancun. "I spend about three-and-a-half months a year in Mexico. The southern beach resorts are ... like anywhere in the world. You have to take your own precautions, you have to be aware of your surroundings and not let your guard down," said Miron. "Mexico, on a per capital basis, is one of the safest places in the world to travel."
That is too bad. I am concerned, but no more concerned than I would be if I went to detroit for the weekend. We are still planning our wedding in July in Playa and our NYE bash at TTR. I just don't know how much we will be leaving the resort, especially for the wedding with our nine year old son with us. Hopefully the army can get this undercontrol and things can get back to normal, where you only have to worry about the cops shaking you down for a hundred bucks or so.
hehe... I'm quite comfortable in Detroit (Mumford HS c/o 1990, also grew up in Saginaw, Mi), so anything going down in Cancun is a breeze for me. Esther, on the other hand, isn't as "at home" in rough conditions (she's from A2). I'm not the least bit worried. It's the missus. there may be one teeeeeeeny tiny bit of hope left. She's calling a friend of her's that lived in MX to get her opinion.
mumford? isn't eddy murphy wearing a mumford athletic dept shirt in beverly hills cop 2. tell your wife that everything will be fine on that little crappy 300 ft of beach at TTR. just don't leave the hotel, what more do you need?
hehe... that's our claim to fame. He was wearing it in 1 and 2, which makes sense since Jerry Bruckheimer went there.
