A great place to visit. A must do if you haven't before and like Stacy and John I agree with USA Transfers.
Hey guys just wondering if you spent the night there? What are some attractions you need to see there/ is it much different than isla mujeres?
You Need Taxi TINO! We met Tino 6 years ago on a trip to Cozumel. We had 6 people with us and wanted to visit Chichen Itza. We took the Ferry over and planned to rent a car and drive there ourselves. Tino (a taxi driver) was standing at the ferry dock and offered to drive us there and back for less than than the van rental would have cost us.. I am so glad we went with him. The drive there is not the easiest with the tolls and the (armed) checkpoint we went through coming out. He was a great tour guide and you could tell he loved his job and sharing the area with new people. I just talked to him again last month on our way from Cozumel to the CUN airport. We bumped into him again at the ferry dock, and he drove us to get breakfast and onto the airport. It's nice making contacts like Tino in a place you frequent. He speaks english and will stop anywhere you want along the way for beers or shopping. He will also let you know what places to avoid and keep you from getting ripped off. I know his prices are very comparable to what renting a car or van on your own would be, but the experience is far more relaxing and informative. Cost wise, he was about twice a much as taking the ADO bus to the airport. If you were heading from Playa to the Cancun hotel zone, he would have been pretty close to the cost of the Bus Ride from Playa to Downtown, then the Taxi from there to the Hotel zone. Here is his contact info, if you need van service around Playa anywhere from Tulum to Cancun give him a call.
