Our package came with transportation as well, but for $65, I like the direct to hotel of US transfers. I don’t want to wait to drop off other people when I could be drinking at TTR already!!

What Steve is referring to in his reply above is setting up the 3 way transfer when staying at two hotels during your trip. It's harder to set that up on the site, so doing it via email through Steve helps make sure there are no problems.

You booked a Lush tower and transfer is included? I assume that is via a 3rd party site. My recommendation really comes down to what dollar value do you put your time at on vacation? Normally those package included transfers are group transfers. You could get lucky with no group, or in most cases you have to make multiple stops before arriving at the last stop on the route: Temptation (which it always is because of it's location). I have had this take up to 1.5 hours from leaving the airport to the hotel. Never again.

USA Transfers (which you can book via the link under Steve's signature) is $55 round trip, and takes about 25 minutes. It's also more convenient when departing because you are given an exact time to meet your ride, and not open window. Which is nice when trying to fit in breakfast or more drinks.

We are booked in the master suite with the supposed free VIP transportation. Never got a single response. Ended up booking with USA Transfers.

We stayed in a Master Suite last year and VIP transfer was included. It was set-up through the hotel and all we had to do was send our flight info. It was great and so easy. When we walked out of the airport there was a guy standing in front with our name on a large sign. He walked us to a waiting Escalade with a driver ready to go. We were on the road within 1 minute with cold Coronas in our hands.

On leaving day another Escalade was waiting for us and we left immediately.

Here's an interesting wrinkle to the above.

I don't know if this is a Premier Member only "thing," or what. A couple weeks ago I finished the set-up for this year's trips to TTR/DRM. In the email I get back from the Premier desk, I received the below with regards to arranging ground transportation to, in the first response, TTR, and in the second response, DRM:

TTR trip: "If you require ground transportation, please click here. The cost of the shuttle service is $85.00USD (Round Trip)."

DRM trip: "If you require ground transportation, please click here. The cost of the shuttle service is $105.00USD (Round Trip)."

You'd click the word "here" in the above, and it takes you direct to a booking page for the transfer.

here's the thing. I think @ScubaSteve is right in that, if you go direct to the USA Transfers page, you can still book a basic transfer for $55 (I've not tried it, so someone can confirm or deny this) for the lower rate of $55, round trip.

@Steve had mentioned ina thread last year at some point that USA Transfers was upgrading the vehicles in which they operated (and I think at least to TTR & DRM). Maybe this is why the uptick in price per transfer?

Just an interesting thing, the apparent price-gouge. Unless, the basic $55 puts you in the aforementioned basic van while the higher cost puts you in a Lincoln Navigator or some such vehicle instead.

We just used USA Transfers a week ago. It was $55 round trip to TTR in their basic vans

The hotel uses USA Transtet for the private ride as well. It is more because they use a premium vehicle versus the regular vehicles they use. If booking your own be sure to use the link here on CancunCare.

So, $30 extra to get the ride in the Lincoln, instead of a basic van? $50 extra to go the few extra minutes it takes to get to DRM.

I'm grumpy right now since I've got a cold, so maybe that's why I'm bothered by this. I mean, I know Stacia's sexier in the back seat of a Navigator, so... *shrug*

    I think you got it.
They have to pay for those new vehicles some way!
