I didn't think it was and part of the reason we likely won't go since with the leaving time and travel time of about 90 minutes... it just would kill a lot of the day..
Wondering, maybe a hotel near the airport? Be fresh the next morning for the long ride to the resort. Not easy to get there from a lot of places.
Best is subjective and somewhat of an unknown since no one has really been yet, but here is the link to the resort transportation option Airport Transfer | Temptation Adults Only Cancun Resort
Sheraton Four Points at the airport looks good. There is a village around the hotel with restaurants, bars, and shopping. We are going to stay there 1 night then get to Miches before noon the next day. Similar to what a lot of people do when they get to Cancun late in the day.
We booked through Expedia.com If you go to the website, click "Cars" There are 2 options there, Rentals & Airport Transportation. Choose Airport Transportation. You must have all your flight information for booking. We booked through there, it was around $145 Round trip for 2 people.
Thanks for the info, very appreciated. We booked our flights through Expedia and didn't know this was on option through car rental, so easy enough. In Canada, there seems to be 5 vehicles options for roundtrip (tax + fees incl): - the cheapest at $195 CA for a car (not sure our 2 checked bags + 2 carry-on will fit) - the second cheapest is a van at $331 CA which would work but it comes up to same price as what hotel is offering - then it goes to luxury at ++$100/ category We like the idea of going with Temptation transport for our first time since we're not familiar with Punta Cana's service...and there's no USA Transfer to rely on like we're used to do in Mexico. We'll see... still sounds very interesting ***funny!! Was just looking over the details and for over 100 km they say travel time is 25 min!!! Either they're flying us over or their clocks don't run at the same speed as ours!!
It's allegedly 90 minutes, which is what google maps says. We have a car service in Mexico as well since we live here and are pretty adventurous for a lot of things, but not transportation. For $240 return in a private van we'll just stick with what the resort is offering.
