I thought I read on another thread that one time they did the toy exchange in the sports bar. Believe they said it was empty and the group participating were the only ones in there. That might be a good place. Thoughts?
Is the sports bar where they have the pool table? (It's been 4 years since I was there). I think that might be a GREAT place for us to have it since there are so many of us this year. We should probably try to come up with a plan soon so we can get the info out. We need to determine place and time so no one misses out Here are the people participating that I could tell so far. Last year in June we had it at PadyO's just after 1am when things were starting to slow down. We encircled one of the long tables near the dance floor. Picked, enchanged, stole and flaunt...so goes the toy exchange!! Plenty of light to see and take pic's of your new prize with all your new friends! 20+ in our group last year and it went really well. Skinny dipping in the quiet pool and then the ocean afterwards if I remember right. But it's a all bit fuzzy!! Jeff
Now this sounds like fun. We actually had it in the Sports Bar last year, but reguardless of where we have it the last part of what Jeff said sounds like a lot of fun as well. :icon_lol:
Well...he has a different memory of that night than I do! LOL...didn't think I had THAT much to drink. Just know that by the time we were exchanging, it was late enough that my high heels were off. I agree that we need to stick to a firm place and then a backup plan if someone comes and we moved the location due to space or other reasons. It's kind of nice to do it in the sports bar because the bar is open and since we will have so many couples this year - this could take a while (which is great). Sooo...we just need to decide a firm time. How about as soon as they are done with whatever "show" they do in Nice shoes that night? We can go up to our rooms grab gifts either before the show or after and meet in the Sports Bar. I think we decided to draw numbers and then do this 'stealing' style where we choose a gift or an already chosen gift. I have seen the opening part done 2 different ways. The first way is open the gift when you choose it. The second is to wait until the end and everyone opens their gift at the same time. The advantage to waiting until the end is, you don't really know what you are 'stealing' and obviously the disadvantage is that you don't know what you are stealing. What are the preferences? Also, once an item has been stolen 3 times, it can no longer be stolen and in case I forget to say it that night, whoever goes first, gets a chance at the end to steal whatever items are still up for grabs. ~Jill~
If the toy I am bringing to the exchange requires batteries should I include some? Or are you all ok with using the tv remote batteries? just kidding...who does that?!? 48 count pack of AA on the shopping list!
