Len, I know Steve does not like the forum to be used for this sort of thing but I have felt compelled to attempt to help Craig G. out with some advice as he originally requested via OP. Len, suggestions create critical thinking solutions. Have you ever heard of “think out of the box” or for those in my field “think out of the sphere or globe” ? I am just laying out alternatives so the contract does not simply go to waste. And before I forget, there are lawyers/websites for getting you out of timeshare contracts for situations like Craig G’s...I am ignorant of how they work but again a potential solution. If Craig G. can find a buyer he may have the buyer approach Baby G. with the cash offer first to seevif it will entice her to sign? I do not think Craig G. wants to upgrade at all as that is always the carrot on the stick to get Premier to change things...and suck more cash from you ( I can here the suck from here)...not smart in my opinion. Personally, I think it might be best to finish existing contract and then to reevaluate your personal situation, including health and age before any modification. At least you know what you have and remaining duration and what TTR is now...some already do not like the new TTR. You also may have RCI and SFO, or maybe dome other exchange in your contract so the options run beyond TTR. Maybe Baby G., or Craig G. are interested in this as opposed to linking past good times to TTR trips? And than there is Desire to try for those, like us whom have yet to experience it, but will soon (yes we know it is nicer but also more expensive). Also, as we have seen more recently since reno 3rd party sites are less expensive than Premier. Same with TTR direct booking. But it is all about the sales offered and booked. Sovin order to stay/be competitive in the future, Premier will have to continuosly reinvent themselves. No one knows if /what the future contracts will be or if they eventually may stop offering them. But we ALL know that the price will continually rise. Anyway, I degress...sorry. So, and, that’s what cash offers and lawyers are for. Everyone has their price. Also, it make no difference what is in your contract at all, nor mine or anyone elses. It’s all about what is written in their contract only...and the answers they receive when discussing with Premier. If answers are inconsistent with what others are being told based on same/similar contract written in the same period of time, then it is about persistance and being more demanding of Premier follow up. Of course it always makes sense to be polite and to follow up the command chain. Most times subordinates are only responding without complete knowledge nor authority. We have experienced this ourselves with 2-3 different Premier reps answering us differently on the same exact question. We have asked other Premier reps as we knew we were not receiving a correct nor the same answer. We then follow it up to our satisfaction either in support of us or not! So, this is it for any more advise from me on this one. Craig G. can PM mevif he chooses to discuss any further. I just hope my suggestions have sparked some critical thinking and “out of the box/sphere/globe thinking and potential solutions or have atleast opened they eyes of how these timeshare type contracts (or any other contract) in MX or anywhere else. Craig G. should contact Premier directly and explain his situation... I sm sure they desl with this sort of thing on a daily basis and may have a solution. So your out is to sell it to someone else...or have her sell it and take what you can get or she will give you...and then move on my friend. Bummer. But then just think...you can start again with your OWN contract if you want and can always add new girl or wife as a beneficiary that you can control. Or simply let it die and start over again if you wish or have the funds. There is NO answer for a woman scourned except maybe a new man whom can talk some sense into her to share the membership or buy/sell with you. And she may some day really want or need the money she can gain from selling to you. Time helps too.
