A TTR repeate advised me to bring a few bounce sheets and rub down the bed with them as it helps with bedbugs? I did it and had no problems unless it was just a hoax thatI played int,o but the smell of bounce sheets apparently deters them and its best to rub down the creases around the matress??? I nevver had any bugs? Thats my 2 cents!

Newbies that just got back Best vacation ever!! No bugs and no unwanted bites. My two cents I would never get a jacuzzi room. Too much time in the pool to want to lay in more water at night. Our room was great 1229. Bed comfortable. Shower large enough for two. No smell. Brushed teeth with tap water, drank bottle water stocked in the room. Over packed clothes. Didn't need much. We will be back
In response to the bedbug thing I am SUPER paranoid about that kind of thing & we have been to Mexico 7 times (3rd time to TTR) in June & I have never noticed any indication of them.(Not to say they couldnt have been there) I will say though that the one year we went to Cabo everyone at the resort was walking around looking like we had all developed some aweful skin disease as everyone was getting bitten up so bad by what they said were "no see ums". They are tiny bugs that you cant see (hence the name) but they leave tiny little bumps that itch worse then mosquito bites. We had brought bug spray with us but it didnt seem to help. One of the couples that was getting ready to leave told us that they had been there several times before & had learned that Avon Skin So Soft was the only thing that detered them. She left her bottle with me & I had no more problems with them the rest of the trip. Since then we bring some every trip & have had little to no bites since. We also use it at home now for any outdoor activity. It is way more effective then any bug spray we have used, is better for you, & smells way better! :icon_razz: Jess
DEET is an international traveler's friend (for mosquitoes). That said...DEET does not take care of bedbugs....I would really like to know if there is a bedbug problem or not. I will pack a mattress condom if there is...its that simple when travelling. Screw taking chances. I have checked out of many a hotel because of bed bugs. I'll share my bed with many..but not bugs
OMG - that was SO gross!! The last time we were at TTR in late January we did the beach dinner thing on Saturday night and I got bitten horribly by bugs on my ankles. I still have the scars! This time I am bringing bug spray with me as those stupid little bugs LOVE to bite me! I must have Bella-like blood or something - lol! There are some special bug sprays just for bed bugs, I just don't know if it is a placebo. I know the bites I had were from the beach, because they appeared after we left the dinner area. We've been to TTR twice and never had a bed bug problem!! We did have 1106 and the bathroom drain flooded our room when Michael took a shower - smelled awful!! Before that happened I filled up the jacuzzi on the patio and ran the jets (out of paranoid thoughts from our first room in Oct. and the black shit that came out - GROSS!!) - the jacuzzi was fine, but the shower floods were not good! Got upgraded to a suite, and that didn't suck! I wanted a room by the quiet pool bar, but it is sounding like those rooms have major problems! I don't want to be on the other side, but we booked a jacuzzi room - we'll see what happens this time ... Talk to Tiogamike about slipping and cracking skulls!! Look at my pictures and you'll find him with a smashing goose egg on his eye from a nasty slip by the pool - he found out later that he had a concussion from that fall, a pretty bad one actually! I bought new sandals that have a tight grip - no more slipping and ugly bruises for me either!! Hope you nose healed well!!
We worry about a lot of things while traveling to Cancun. However, bed bugs have never been on that list, and probably will never be on that list. Don't waste your time worrying about bed bugs at Temptation.
