Normally you can see the bedbugs or at least remnants of them on the mattresses. I check all matresses at any hotel I travel and will do the same here. However there don't seem to be any major concerns in the past so I would advice everyone to check the matresses when they get in. The smartess advice I got was to lay my bags in the tub until the beds were checked. Just google how to check mattresses. Unless I see signs of them I"m going to assume its sand fleas
cause you weren't on the beach doesn't mean you must have been bit in room... most of our bites happen in Paty'Os at night especially after abit of rain out come mozzas, so perhaps it wasn't bed bugs.
so.. one of the signs that it is bed bugs is.. where the bits are.. if they are all over then chances are its not bed bugs.. bedbug bites are usually on the sides of your arms and legs and sides that touch the bed, if that makes sense.. .. and you wake up in the morning with more bites..all I know is.. if it was bedbugs..I think that they really like me cause as I said.. Brewster did not have one bite on him..

Good to meet you both, glad you enjoyed the cruise. Sorry to hear of the fall, slips and falls are common in Mexico due to the amount of smooth tile floors. Any amount of water from the pool, shower, rain or a spilled drink can cause the surfaces to be extremely slippy. Just ask my wife who slipped on our patio at home and broke her leg a few months ago. Re bud bugs - before anyone goes rushing to cancel their trip. I did a search of the forum and only once in the last 7 years of posts has the issue of bed bugs been mentioned and then it was just a question not an actual report: http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/temptation-resort-cancun/17049-question-bed-bugs.html I'd have expected more mentions from others if this was a regular occurrence. Not saying that it wasn't the case here but remember that in the tropics there are a million and one things that bite or sting, most of which you wont feel at the time or will be too anaesthetized to notice. Slips and falls are the thing to watch out for. I'd take insect bites over a broken nose or leg any day of the week.
Well, whatever it was that bit us is probably dead from the concentration of Malibu and tequila in our bloodstreams.
First couple of days I noticed I was getting bites on my ankles and lower legs that seemed to appear in the mornings...figured there was *something* in the room that was biting me, because I tend to sleep with the bottom half of my legs sticking out of the covers. After that I sprayed my feet and ankles with DEET before going to sleep, and it got rid of the problem. I reckon a mosquito found its way into our room, because I was bitten but husband didn't get any, and those flies seem to love me but leave him alone DEET or no DEET! As above, you can tell bed bugs as they often reside in the corners of mattresses between the folds. I always check the mattress at hotels just in case, and there wasn't any sign of bed bugs when we stayed.
You mean the story about how I caught a volleyball spike square in the face? That's the Facebook version of the story and yes it did suck, but the bruising was almost non-existant, just lots of soreness and crunchiness when I forget and rub my nose for whatever reason...oh and sneezing sucks giant hairy balls. I had so little bruising in fact that no one on the Boobs Cruise or at the pool the next 2 days even noticed and Kati didn't believe me until she bumped into it and I was in tears.
