Since I first saw this thread I had only one thought. To boobs or not to boobs........There is NO question!
Steve thanks for your reply. That has reassured Mrs JVW. And apologies if we have offended your professionalism as suggested by another poster. As a none swimmer, she just likes to make sure before she goes on any boat etc. Apologies if people thought it was a stupid question but for someone who cannot swim, it is also a vital question to ask, regardless of what country you are in.
RE: PFD's on boats. Well......I don't assume anything when I'm in Mexico.....lol. A few years ago, we went to Desire (Damn, it's been 9yrs since that first trip). When we got there (Sept.) they were constructing a knee wall on the beach border. When we went back, in April, they were STILL constructing that knee wall. I could have had that wall built (in the US) in one week. Granted, they probably had it done, cheaper. Another visit there, they were constructing a Palapa. The framing for these is timbers. There was a guy cutting timbers with a chainsaw.......dressed in shorts. JUST shorts. No shoes....no nothing else. Ever seen some of the rickety mess that serves for scaffolding on a Cancun construction site? NOTHING in Mexico surprises me.
Every country is different so its always best to check. Mexico is the first place I have been where as Steve said, it is a requirement to wear a bcd whilst snorkeling on a trip and we have snorkelled in the Maldives! When in doubt, however stupid it might seem, always safer to ask
Because I have a fear of water, I contacted Steve personally before booking. It wasnt that I thought anyone would 'let me drowned' but that I wanted to make sure they knew and I wouldnt be any kinda burden on the cruise. If anything, it is more of 'checking things out' and being comfortable with going. We chicken shits need fun too!!!!! LOL
