The wet money doesn't really bother them... In September, we used these.. Holds the room key, and 3-4 bills.. It was okay, but not perfect.. Then in April, I used the CamelBak Podium Chill with QuickGrip... Holds the room key, and 8-10 bills easily. Way better than the sports bottle from September...
When we were there in April Canadian Dos Equis Fan (Keith/Jim the Chicken's Handler) bought a waterproof container from the gift shop. It was a bit bigger than a cigarette pack so easy to carry in a pocket. We went to a local dive shop and bought a "dive wallet" it's waterproof.
I've got an Otterbox waterproof case thing. It's about the size of a paperback book and big enough to hold anything you don't want getting wet. Got it from Amazon.
Damn straight! The only thing about the room outside Paty O that bothered me was the stupid elevator music they played 6pm - 9pm every day. Once the music shuts off, the air con usually drowns out any other noise from guests that party on.
Trust me, they don't care if the money is wet. It'll still spend, and always dries out eventually. Reminds me of a trip S & I took tto the Virgin Islands, we went over by boat to Jost Van Dyke, and hit a bar called the Soggy Dollar, since you can't get to the shore except by swimming in.... thus, all the money is wet.... People get hammered, crushed, crazy-stupid drunkenly-drunken-drunk there drinking this wonderfully brain-imploding rum drink called the Pirate's Painkiller. I've got a great shirt I "think" I remember buying there that says, "Painkiller is The Answer." Nice...
They don't care if it is wet. As stated earlier I would tip larger in the morning and they will remember you and you will get your drinks faster.
I have to try that drink. I think I have all the ingredients in my bar. I'll report back later on its effectiveness. Pirate's Painkiller 1 1/2 oz. Pussers Blue Label Rum 1 oz. pineapple juice 1 oz. cream of coconut 1 oz. orange juice 1/2 oz. Grand Marnier floater Garnish with fresh, grated nutmeg and cinnamon 1. Pour rum, pineapple juice, cream of coconut, and orange juice over ice; shake. 2. Pour into a mug and float Grand Marnier on top. Garnish with fresh, grated nutmeg and cinnamon, an eye patch and a parrot.
Pirate's painkiller was pretty good. I didn't have the right rum so I went with flur de cana silver. Overall it got a B+. Just a little too sweet. I changed the floater to Myers dark rum and that was really terrific . I will definitely make that version again. Thanks for bringing up the pirate's painkiller!
