Yes I do believe our tipping is a little heavy but this being our 13th trip
we have gottin to know a lot of staff and in some cases thier families. so they are close to our hearts. also we are in the travel industry and know how important those tips are to service people.
Not Bragin just answered the Question

We usually tip throughout our stay because we feel the service is superior in cancun and at TTR. I've asked on a couple of occassions if they want pesos or USD and the answer was always USD, i didn't ask why the preference.

That's good to know - we always bring dollars.

With the exception of the maids who I gave 5.00 a day for everything was pretty much tip as I go without a set schedule. I budgeted 600.00 for tipping for 15 days and that worked out about right. They work so hard keeping the resorts clean and my liver full. They deserve all they can get.

    Tips

We normally tip 2 to 5 for breakfast and lunch, more at dinner depending on service. Maids get something first day, middle and last day. Bartenders and servers all share tips, and get them from us randomly. Always USC never exchanged money in 7 trips. Never had any problems, as long as you know the current exchange rate. I would say about 20 to 40 per day all total.

    Well said!

We are generous tippers. I have a great picture from last year and will try to post it I have a $20 in each side of my bikini top. The swim up bartender loved retrieving them with his teeth. It became a fun game. For me and Jose.

Always use US dollars, always tip the maid, drivers, and food staff. Have not thought to tip the entertainment staff ( us bad too).

The Mayans are excellent at CS. I love rewarding them for making my stay awesome.

I agree.....We always tip a little something, but we had an exceptional waiter, Alex. Every morning he seated us in his area and had our drinks ready. He remembered after only the first morning what each of us wanted. He was so friendly and really left an immpression on us. So anyway at the end of the week outside of the buffet we handed him a 20 and thanked him for all he did for us. (we also tipped him daily)
