Customs: As little as 15 minutes to as long as an hour. It really depends on how many people are checking documentation and how many planes just landed. Make sure your paperwork is complete getting off the plane so you are in front of all the people filling theirs out in the line. Luggage: We have gotten thru customs and had our suitcases waiting but usually we wait another 5 minutes. Luggage Xray: 5-10 minutes usually. We did have a 45 minute one there 5 years ago but I think they've solved those issues. Transfers: Private USA Transfer 30 minutes. In a shared transfer it can be another hour. Usually it's 1-2 hours total. You'll be in the lobby by 6pm no problem.
We have used USA Transfers at least five times, and we will continue as it supports Steve. However, our usual wait is in excess of 20 minutes to get a van. No big deal as we get a drink and enjoy the people watching in the organized chaos. Our fastest after leaving the plane is one hour, the lines were about money-existent.
90 minutes? We'd call it 30. Let's just say the airport shuttle guys have one of the best jobs in Cancun.
This is probably one of the most useful posts lol!!!! We are going 8/2 good to know we could be drunk within 2 hours of landing!!!!!!!!
The nice thing is that the last few trips I have been met at check in with a beer.... It makes it much easier to deal with the time share people.
In our experience the biggest delay is waiting for our luggage. I never fails that ours is pretty much the last ones on the carousel. If it came off first we could be at TTR in about 35 minutes tops. It's frustrating as hell.
Our flight is a 5 1/2 hour flight so we would be sober by the time we get there. We do bring airline bottles of booze on the plane with us but getting mixers is very slow.
