What about legroom? Thomson say they give extra legroom, more than Thomas cook but what about virgin. Anybody any ideas?

TC may give you a bit of extra leg room but what we found was that the seats were narrower! We are not big but we found the seats very snug, we were almost overlapping! On the way home when you need some sleep we found it impossible.

Sometimes I forget the quality of airlines we have based here in Canada. Even our discount carriers are comfortable and not cheap quality. The turnover rate with discount carriers is crazy though. seems every couple of years one goes under to be replaced by a new one. lol

Trip home last time was awful! Flew in to Gatwick, then had to get back to Liverpool (about 4 hour journey)...unfortunately I was pretty much dead for the world and left the driving up to the hubby. Felt so guilty, but I really could not keep my eyes open, even after numerous pro plus and at least 2 cans of red bull! This time we're flying from Manchester so journey's a bit easier

We did it because last trip other people we were going with were from the South. This time it's just us. Amount of money we spent on petrol and a night in a hotel at Gatwick airport day before we went it was around the same price as going from Manchester! Never again.
