Hi Guys, we found this out recently too after 2 visits with Thompsons previously. We've booked through Caribbean Collection, they've put together a package flying with Virgin in June 2013. It has even cost less than Thompsons...for a quality, scheduled flight. Can't wait & counting down the days already....Anyone want to start a June 2013 roll call yet? Good luck booking Trev & Deb XXX
The flight with Virgin or Ba are actually cheaper as they include 22kg for check-in luggage +free drinks and meals + no £45departure tax .... And their aircrafts are not infested with flees! did I menion online check-in? Nothing would make me board a Thomas Cook flight or Thomson again!
I found Thomas cook was cheapest for next year, Thomson are only doing hotels that have agreed to be exclusive to them from 2013. for two weeks in September inc flights we paid £2,176 inc "your seat your choice" with Thomas cook x
Did that too. Paid extra to choose seats, and made sure we got seats in a row that had 2 seat formation not 3. Both husband and I are bigger than average, and he's 6' as well. Would have felt sorry for anyone having to share a row with us two for 11 hours!
that's what I have done! is it worth it then , more comfy? never gone long hail with Thomas cook but kinda hoped a two row would be ok x
No idea sorry. Never been on a Thomas Cook flight. Last trip was Thompson. That flight was ok, but on the way back the seats were a mess. The trays were broken and screens kept crashing too. Let's be honest, budget airlines are like a glorified coach...and not decent ones you get these days - more like the coaches in the 1980s! Anyone else find it infuriating when the person in front of you puts their seat back? They get maybe 1" recline doing so, but then make the space in your seat unbearable! Just keep the bloody thing upright.
I spoke to some one from Thomas Cook about upgrading the seats and they said you cant upgrade on the way out but you can upgrade coming back??
Just go for it, the flight back is just hell!!!!! Take it!!! worth every penny, trust me we have done it, arriving back in the UK at 9.00 am is not good but take the upgrade if you can get it, just makes for a bit easier landing. Jet lag and all!!!! on the way out its not tooo bad, you have TTR to recover you. Going back is just hell! xxx
