Like TANG, I thought we lost the signal too. I thought it was a good ending but does leave room for a movie. questions, questions???
There are no plans for a movie, according to David Chase, the show's creator and writer/director of the last episode. Frankly, I don't think I should have to buy a movie ticket to see an HBO series wrapped up. A season finale or a series finale should be just that: final. It was a complete cop out to end without an ending. Those saying it was brilliant can call my next mega novel brilliant. I'm not writing one, but hey, you can imagine your own story, right? Complete BS.
I have to agree. Just give us an ending!!!! some are saying that it was an ending for those who appeciate art. it was a brilliant artistic ending!!!! well you know what......I thought I was watching HBO, not the art channel. I pay my cable service extra $$$ to get HBO and be entertained with their movies, documentries and shows! anyway, Im getting off this Sopranos topic anyways, it was SOOO last week anyway!!! ps. my guess again......Tony got wacked!!!!!
It's not TV, it's HBO  I think that last line of Margaret Mitchell's story should have been 86'ed, too. The "Frankly, Scarlett, I don't give a damn" was so redundant, really. Shouldn't we all know that he doesn't care, or maybe he does, but doesn't want to admit it? Who needed that last line? Audiences were so immature back then in the 30's. Now we're so sophisticated. Who needs things wrapped up tidily with a pretty little bow? David Chase is such a cutting-edge writer/director by knowing today's audience is so hip, so NOW. He RESPECTS the audience. We know the ending without him having to tell us. If only Leo Tolstoy had let his long-winded saga end with war, period. Who needs to hear about the peace? We can assume the fighting won't go on forever. Right? God, there'd be less boring pages after pages to read. Lights out. Cut to black. Orson Welles? Another lame ass director. What's up with "Rosebud?" Why not just cut to black. We can figure out what he loved most, that damn sled of his. Michael Curtiz, what a putz. Why did he not just cut the final scene in Casablanca before the airplane? We could figure it out for ourselves. "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." Whatever. Shut up already. Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I realize the brilliance of David Chase. Endings are so last 2,000 years. It's time for audiences to grow up.
