No excuse for poor manners! Thanks for clarifying. I was a single girl at the resort and have never had a problem with singles or couples being rude or hateful (like in NashvilleKary's case). Most people are great and just want to have fun. When propositioned, I always respond, "I am so flattered, but I'm not into that." They still wanna hang out with me and include me in activities. I think TTR is what you make of it and I find that I tend to like the people I meet there (exception to this last trip and the large group of singles who got out of hand.) I just wanted to reinterate that TTR is a fun resort and I would NOT discourage singles or couples from going (unless you are uptight.) LOL This resort caters to "adult fun" and should be viewed in that context. If one is easily offended, don't go. ...Again Thanks Donald for your comments. (The girl that got the broken rib was in our group.) I think the group issue should be dealt with in some fashion, but ...I have no idea what could be done. TTR did the best they could without actually putting the boys on the street with nowhere to stay. This group was restricted and had security following them everywhere (after several complaints were made to the staff.)
Well said Steve, interestingly one of the favoured destinations for stag and hen parties in the last 10-15 years has been Dublin. The hoteliers in Dublin are now turning away large groups of singles because of their behavioir and they are now seeing the long term effects of welcoming them over tha past decade in that couples and families are now staying away.
I'm not condoning the actions of the infamous 42, but I will try and explain them. In England we have a drink, fight and f##k Mentality, after all we are an island race. It is not just on holiday that we get drunk and rowdy in groups. We do this every weekend right across our country. We are very susceptible to mob mentality, it has been proven throughout time, with riots, strikes and football hooliganism. We are angry with a government that doesn't understand the problems of the youth, we are struggling with unemployment and poor job prospects. So when we go on holiday we do get too drunk and we do try to forget our problems at home. Now not all Brits are like this, and most, if you get us with our partners or small groups are well behaved and polite people. It is just a certain demographic
this sounds HORRIBLE! Is it always that bad? We don't mind singles guys so much as the behavior of 42 drunk fools. Sounds to us that resort should have thrown them out!
On our second TTR trip (4/6 to 4/13) we met quite a few single guys from Canada, England and the USA. After reading some horror stories about single guys getting out of hand, we were pleasantly surprised to meet some very respectful, fun young men. A few of them had a great time on the 4/8 Boob’s Cruise (Ted) and a few were extremely happy to be introduced into the Cancuncare circle of trust. (Ben, Jason and Ted). If anyone has any contact info for Jason, a great guy with dual Canada and USA citizenship who happened to be a US Marine, please share it with us. During the day he didn’t stray from sitting at the sexy pool bar. We have some awesome pictures we wanted to share with him, plus he was such a nice person, we would like to keep in touch with him. This is Jason with us.
I know this is an old thread but wanted to say that currently this week there is basically more single girls than single guys. If they are here then I don't even notice them or they are the good respectful type that we all know from the site. So the problems reported on the site from some threads from march and early April are non-existant in late April.
