The effects of the poor behavior of this particular group Steve initially identified from the last week of March were evident during our visit. The single guys we met here at CancunCare and were on our Booze Cruise (brandon and Kerry) received below standard care and treatment at the restaurants and the bars. Brandon was denied his reservation at Il Piacere because he had the audacity to show up single. That was an error on the part of the restaurant manager and the resort. The bartenders were instructed to not serve shots to the young singles late in the day and would not prepare any of the popular shots for anyone. Can you imagine - we couldn't do Komakazies with Monique because the bartenders were not allowed to make and serve them. For the most part the groups of young single guys from wherever were well behaved and respectful of other guests during our stay. Yes, a few single Brit or Euro guys got too loaded and were loud and obnoxious but they did not corner the market on that issue. I do believe the large group in question was checking out last Sunday so we may have missed the full effect of the bunch being discussed here. In that regard, we got lucky. The esistence and recurrence of this type of Boys Gone Wild group will certainly weigh heavy on our decision of becoming repeaters at this property.
You Rock! Sly it would be difficult for you NOT to fit in anywhere!! We loved meeting you. All of our group loved having you hang out (and dance) with us haha...but you have to admit that most of the single men are/were not like you the 8 days we were there. LOL :aktion030:
First of all what 'friends' of mine went to jail? I just resent the word 'singles' as opposed to the rowdy swinger/couples who can be just as obnoxious at this resort at times. I in no way shape or form want this forun to discourage singles from going to TTR and that is the impression I get sometimes...rowdy drunk couples or swingers are ok but if it is drunk Brits in groups of 40 who happen to be single, not ok. I don't condone obnoxious behaviour but it seems when they are single and male they get picked on the worst. I personally dislike going to the resort and seeing predominantly drunk couples or swingers doing the same thing....being loud, flirty and obnoxious...no difference imo. Yes many are not like this but do I com plain when they are???? So to me, I will say it again, it is a chance you take when you book, and if you don't like it go elsewhere. I take a chance each time I travel....will it be all couples? Will it be all drunks, swingers etc?? It is hit and miss.
Of course it's not ok if 40 drunk brits throw some one in ther pool with a micro phone , continuassly heckal women going to the washroom, broke one women's rib.... they were behaving so bad they got band from parts of the resort. There is a big difference between being bothered by a drunk couple or single guy versus 4 or 5 guys let alone 42 of them. Its a lot more intimidating. I take it by your defense of them you partied with them, If you read some of the previous reviews you will see there was a lot of incidences. Not too many people share you views on this subject,
I know, I know, there's only one of me...LOL. Was very nice hanging out with folks too. Certainly made the evenings go by very quickly. Was actually though getting to bed on my last night as Addy and the gang kept bringing shooters... Maybe we do this again next year.
Being a single male and having just returned from 7 days at Temptations, I have a few thoughts on this issue.. I haven't actually read the entire thread so please forgive me if I get a bit redundant at times. The last time I check Temptations was listed as a 21+ resort and not a Couples 21+ resort... That being said, I completely understand that most couples out on vacation prefer to hang out with out couples or themselves... Because of that, I purposely made an effort to hang out by myself or other singles for fear of being a 3rd or 5th wheel... Fortunately for me, ever couple I met from this site seemed to make an effort to go out of their way to include me in the fun and make me feel welcome.. For that, I would like to say a personal thank you to all the couple here... You all rock! Whew...Unfortunately, some couples think every single male there must have gone there to bone every female in their site whether they were single or not... For me this could not be further from the truth... Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't turn down a mercy hand job from a hotty, but my reason for going to Temptations is probably the same reason most couples go there: To get away from all the stupid bullshit that goes on in real life for a few days, curl your toes in some sand, have a few (by few a mean a ton!) drinks with some new and interesting people and watch naked boobies all day! While I'm going to chalk this up to not letting one bad apple spoil the bushel, I had a pretty shitty experience from one male of a couple... I had a couple invite me over to have a few drinks with them... I could tell they had been drinking heavily all do so that may have something to do with it, but after one drink, they male stood up and said he was going to go take a shower, then proceeded to tell me that if I fucked his wife he was going to put the wrath of god on me and I had better not make him tell me twice... He didn't need to tell me once... It really bummed me out for a few days because as an adult, I don't like to be threated like that by anyone... The next days I was having breakfast by myself and him and his wife came in, sat down 3 tables from me and then invited me over to join them like nothing had happed the day before... I learned a few days later that he likes to get "blackout drunk" and say stupid things. I'm not exactly sure why I'm sharing this story... maybe just to vent... maybe just to show the other side... Just as single male knucklehead can do something stupid and ruin and moment or two our a couples experience, he doesn't hold a paten on such behavior.
Hey Kary, one of the best things I we ever heard from a single guy (Chris) at TTR was "I've been here for four years in a row and I havn't gotten laid once, but I have had the greatest times of my life here." ( Or something close to that) The operative word in your statement was "some couples" We just like to meet new people, couples or singles, not necessarily to take them back to our room.
It wasn't about'' couples'' versus a'' singles/couple mixed'' resort but about curtailing large groups of single male parties crashing the resort and changing the atmosphere. Glad you had a reasonable good time. To bad his wife didn't explain her husbands actions. Any one can be a drunken fool, be it single or married, but when you have forty of them in one group it can get intimidating to some people.
Right on! We had the pleasure of meeting you,and had many laughs together. We remember how upset you were when you told us about that obnoxious husband. Single or couple, people should have manners and play nice together. Personally, I did not have an issue with any of the singles I encountered, but then again none of them threw me in a pool or started any problems with me or Rick. We will return to Temptations, and hope we meet other respectful singles, much like Kary.
