Yeah I hear Britain is pretty good for letting people claim everything. I read their papers and see such misuse
I was amazed at the nude pics in the news papers over there!! Page 6 or something.............. I almost fell OVER on the tube the first day. Certainly was nice to see hahahaha
There is no such a thing as free lunch. National health care, like everything else you can get from the government, are paid by the taxpayers. That's a fine example of why I'm not a big fan of socialism. When people are using national health care, they don't realize they are actually using their own tax money. They think it's free so they don't spend it as carefully as they would with their own money. The result is a lot of waste resources. You almost ALWAYS get less bang for the buck when the money funnels through the government.
Excellent point ! I'm not jealous about the Canadian health care system or ANY Nationalized system exclusively managed by the government (I'm not just picking on Canadians). Yes private HC in America is the most expensive in the world; and if your employer does not provide it, or you don't have your own, you're basically sh%t out of luck. However, MICHAEL F posted a video in the free for all forum about the plight of an Ontario man with a cancerous brain tumor who crossed the border to the U.S. to get the medical care that is rationed in his home country. I added stories from the Canadian Press about those who instead of waiting months for care, went across to border to get what they needed immediately. http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40471&highlight=canadian health care The moral of the story is anything that is: "Free", Nationalized, and Collectivized should NOT be taken lightly. After all, nothing is truly free (anyone want more tax increases in a bad economy?). Also why would we trust Government with all its failures and shortfalls to make critical choices for us such as healthcare? Interestingly, Germany has a high-bred, combination system of both private AND public healthcare that seems to work well.
Well I think that is a pretty common thing whether it's health care or not, Money Talks, if a Canadian wants to cross the border and PAY then they will get served quicker. Same as in anything, if you are willing to pay then they will take you.
Yup, if I needed heart surgery or had a brain tumor like the guy in the video... I sure as hell wouldn't wait months...
But in the same sense though, I am glad cause I don't have the 100 grand to have the surgery they wouldn't turn me away on Canadian Soil.
Nice, but while you don't need 100 grand.... In the mean time, you could be dead by the time the government got you a doctor's appointment
