Where Breathless Riviera Cancun is located is pretty remote (with the exception of neighboring resorts). So you likely won't be bringing folks in via the beach unless they are staying in a nearby resort. Also note, there is a decent size sea wall between DRM and Breathless. Not saying you can't get around it, but it isn't a simple stroll over.
Great question. The Breathless staff post guards/staff on the beach. There are lots of walkers from other resorts (especially from the south) that will come through to the DRM wall and then turn around. The guards do a pretty good job of knowing who is who (even without wrist bands). So you have a couple options (ask for forgiveness or permission) 1) try the sneaky-sneaky move, possibly get caught and says sorry, didn't know, but if you are sneaky, they will figure you probably did know. 2) don't be sneaky , and just have your guests come on over, like a normal hotel in the states, and see if anyone says anything. Do it right in front of the beach guards and don't hide it. 3) just ask the staff up front .. "we have some friends in a neighboring resort that are going to swing by to say hi and check out the resort/rooms to see if they want to book here for their next vacation, is that a problem?". Then there is no worry about getting caught. 4)rent a play room in their name for the night. The beach barrier between the Breathless and DRM isn't too hard to navigate in the day, but gets worse every year. Wouldn't want to try it in the dark and intoxicated. DRM has an artificial reef (large sand filled tube thing) to keep their beach intact. Also a few large rocks. There used to be a rope to assist climbing up onto it and accessing the DRM property from the south, but that is now gone. It is only about a foot to 18 inches high at the most.
Another option could be to inquire about day passes. Apparently Breathless did offer them at one point.
