They said it was due to the amount of resources they had to use on responding to calls and 'trying' to Catch the criminals. My opinion is trying to catch the criminals is exactly what they should do. I shouldn't be punished for leaving my door unlocked (unless it is by criminals stealing my stuff) thru fines. So instead the police and laws are shifting focus to the innocent instead of focusing on the scum. Just like a camera ban focuses incorrectly on the camera and the majority using them for the right reasons instead of focusing on the pervs using them for the wrong reasons. Use the resources you have to catch the criminals and deter the perv camera users. Thankfully in this case there was outrage and the authorities decided against passing the law. So with cameras I go back to temptations hiring someone who works on tips to be the camera police and limit perv picture taking at events and games. Chinos has other things to focus on.
Question 1. Does the insurance company have to pay any damages to the vehicle or even for the vehicle itself if you violated the law by leaving the door open? Question 2. Who put the most money into getting that law enacted?( Perhaps insurance companys?)
Exactly! It ticks me off. Insurance companies lobby for legislation like this and our governments roll over. Think about speeding. Most speed limits are set below a safe limit in North America. Why? Governments cash in on speeding tickets and insurance companies cash in on higher rates as your infractions accumulate. Of course, there is abuse from the companies who do car repairs paid by insurance companies. I once had a windsheild replace. Pay cash and it was $300.00. I went through insurance and saw the bill at $790.00.
I own an Collision repair shop and yes the insurance companies pay the best. They have to bring the car back to pre collision condition as where if it's coming from the owners pocket he wants to use more cost efficient ways to repair it. I think in the case of your windshield, the cost to replace it with a factory dealer part is $790 but the shop will use an inferior aftermarket part and you get it done for $300. Most time the shops don't even tell you why they are giving you the better price. After saying that though I do agree the insurance companies like to spend money to justify their salaries and our insurance rate increases. They always like to let us know what a disaster cost them but never tell us about the BILLIONS they make every year. Do I like the insurance companies business practices NO. Do I like working for them as a Collision repair Centre most definitely. I went back to see how this insurance thing all started and I'm going way of topic. So my 2 cents on cameras. Leave them in your room and use them when your touring the rest of cancun.
no arguments here...it is def. all driven by money...the majority of decisions are...but the innocent are usually the ones punished by these simple laws because the criminals could care less... as for the camera ban, i agree 100% with you....i would most def. like to take pics with our camera of my wife and any new friends we might make BUT now im nervous that somebody will think im takin a pic of HIS wife and get all shitty about it....i want a week free of stress not arguing over my use of a camera...
If it's just the wife and friends in the shot I don't think anybody is going to care. I just think people need to be aware of their surroundings and respect the other guests. I think it's pretty simple. I'm not much of a picture taking person so I may be one sided though.
I don't believe the rules have changed but the atmosphere is a bit better than years past. At least it was last week. Far less cameras than the past 2 years.
I agree, the rules are the same, but I think the courtesy and common respect are finally reaching everyone that reads up on the resort through here or when they get there. Hopefully it stays that way, jmg944t you were there last week? how was the weather?
Backs, We were there last week and the first day was yucky...the rest of the trip was nice and warm. The booze cruise weather on the way out was horrible but then the sun came out and it was perfect. As far as camaras go, well mine and Guys were stolen. The only creeps I saw were two times the entire week..... One was inside Nice Shoes and he had a full blown Proffesional HD Cannon with a zoom lense. He sat in the back by himself and was blinding everyone with his flash. The other was a creeper on the side of the pool, but after one look from my hubby/Travis/Guy/Lorenzo and Jesse he dissapeared. I know I had spoken to JMG944t and he said one of the days his group was partying and some creep tried to take photos of the ladies, but was quickly told to STOP and he did. The only photos I took were of our group, dont have them as they were stolen (nothing nude was taken.) My hubby took photos with his Iphone and the only people who get to see them are those who were in our group. We got wasted and slept through lingerie night. We had attended the stripper show the night before and the cast said (about 10 times) that lingerie night YOU HAD TO BE DRESSED AND ABSOLUTELY NO CAMARAS ALLOWED. I hope you have fun in April!
