I agree Bart, even though this guy was a jerk, I do believe he was the exception. I have been involved in a couple cases with cameras over the years and in both cases a simple and private discussion solved the problem. I don't believe you win pissing contests by pissing back, with a jerk like this one I think it would be best to let security handle it.

Security were called and did absolutley nothing, they didn't want to get involved at all. they just wanted to call the police which would have made it even worse. I think if more people actually stood up to these jerks in a polite way, the peoblem would dissapper.
People who know us know you can find some very naughty pics of us on the net but they are what WE put on there and we give access to who WE decided to give access to, there is no need for these jerks to be taking snap shoots.
The discomfort of some of the women was very clear to see and made me very angry indeed. I really can't understand why som many people let it happen. As the song says 'STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHT' lol.

Agreed Les, On a couple different occasions over the years I have confronted someone using a camera in a way that made my wife uncomfortable. Both times polite conversation took care of the problem, this guy was a total jerk!! Sounds like you handled him in the only way you could.

Ok, let me modify my statement a bit - "in the moment" not having a camera along would not necessarily interfere with our fun, but, us, like Rob and Tonya aka Diamondheaded, really enjoy being able to look back at our pictures and I would seriously consider not going to a resort that banned bringing cameras. That make sense?

Lest we get into a row about this, this is my opinion. Not saying it's right and not saying it's wrong, but am saying it's mine. Feel free to choose your own.

So, something funny occurred to me in the discussion here ... so the guy says he "has the right to shoot these pictures as he's a plastic surgeon."

Hmm, I think I would reply that I then have a right to shove that camera way up his ass because I'm a proctologist! (actually, I"m not but ... I'm sure that tool wasn't a plastic surgeon either).

I happened to be sitting a few feet away during you altercation with that asshole and if he's a plastic surgeon then you're six feet tall. BTW,if he is a surgeon he didn't do a very good job on his wife. You did handle that situation like a complete gentlemen

My two cents? It IS a difficult issue. When we were at Hedo, cameras were banned only in the nude areas and rightfully so I think. Cameras were not banned in prude areas even during the theme nights when people were very scantily clad. The management at Hedo did publicize the policy well so folks knew what they were getting into.

Paul and I have attended many bike weeks and events where there were cameras everywhere (because what lady doesn't like to dress sexy at bike week? :p ) I know that I have always appreciated when men would ASK if they could take a picture of me. (the answer was usually "sure!") I have not appreciated those who tried to take pics on the sly becasue a. they aren't as sly as they think and b. they might not be getting me at my best angle. lol.

Seriously though, both Paul and I (like many here I am sure) have highly public and sensitive jobs where we would be somewhat embarassed if nude or semi nude pics got out. That being said, I think of it as my responsibility to not get into public situations where there is a possibility of compromising pictures. (private situations are an entirely different matter  ) Will I be topless at the pool? You bet. Will I wear something hot to Nice Shoes? But of course. Will I participate in contests and games that put me the limelight? No. Will I still have a hot hot time? Damn Straight.

I realize that I have not come down on on one side of this issue and for that I am sorry. We LOVE our pics and take them often (in private  and on vaca) but we recognize the privacy issues associated with taking pics. If everyone did, we probaly woudln't be having this discussion right? There will always be a dumb a$$ or two like the guy described here. (plastic surgeon! LOL....) I'm sure that this was the same guy who would lurk around the hot tubs at Hedo watching others enjoy themselves.

So, my final thought, I guess, is yes to cameras, no to dumb A&&es.

Thanks for bearing with my rant. Jessica

I’m not trying to keep the thread going, but I think there is valid argument on both sides.

We (as most of you know) are for limited camera use. We believe that cameras limit participation in pool side games and different evening events. We always appreciated the strict “no camera” policy and mandatory participation during Anything Goes…it virtually eliminated the lurkers.

One of the arguments for camera usage that several members have mentioned, is that “if you don’t want your topless picture taken, don’t go topless in public”. I concur 100% with this statement, but is TTR a public place? There are age restrictions. You have to pay to get in. You must have a wrist band to be on the grounds. Doesn’t that make TTR private? Just like the afore-mentioned limited camera policy at Hedo, it is up to TTR to determine the camera policy.

I’m not for a hotel-wide camera ban. I just wish that they would go to the policy of a few years ago, where cameras were not allowed during certain games AND this was enforced by the entertainment staff.

Did they cancel anything goes/quest because of lack of participation? If that's the case then going with the old policy should solve that
