the 3 story buildings over by the restaurants might be ok to add a floor or 2 . unless .... might cast a shadow on the tame pool ?
ok... gotta post this TTR needs to enforce a no pictures/no cell phones policy at Patty o's. Every night there are groups of folks taking pics and vids of the rest of us trying to participate in the themes. These same folks are the ones that are not participating. Every time someone objects...its almost ends in a fist fight. For god sakes how hard is it to put up four signs on posts at the entrances to the area stating this?! I don't know about any of you but I really don't care to have my vacation up on U-tube. This way the non-English speaking TTR security can easily monitor the crowd and everyone wins. If you want group photos...step over to the hallway by the buffet otherwise...rock on baby. If you don't have the stones to participate in the themes...sit and watch and take home memories...and use them to build your own courage to participate on your next trip! ...just like most of us did!
As for the future of TTR ... hell the owners have to care for a start! booking weddings on the quiet side and running the music from 9 pm to 10 am is not cool to the paying guests....while shutting the Sea Food, Italian and Asian restaurants....and letting guests wander the resort including teenage kids. The place is moldy for god sakes ...and yes this is Mexico but the rest of the resorts cope. My mattress smelled like an old blanket left in the garage for a month after it got wet...and this was in a jaccuzzi room. We go to TTR for the Vibe that WE CREATE. Its funny how we cross half the planet to find folks like ourselves that seem to "get it"...whatever that means. We have found more good people at TTR than we ever have at all the other places we have ever been to. I guess my point is this... we owe TTR nothing...but we hope they pull up their socks and accept the competition as a way to engage us and give us a hard time choosing where to go spend our hard earned vacation cash. I will say that I went to GOV and it rocks. As is stands today, before the switchover, its perfect for a couple who want a sexy vacation together. If they can capture the vibe we know and love at TTR by getting enough of us to create the atmosphere we crave so much...its no contest. The facilities are head and shoulders better. All of this will sort itself out within six months but I give GOV a pretty good shot at getting this right based on what I saw first hand and the things they are saying. hell ...do you see a TTR management thread on here looking for input and feedback?! here's a toast to valid choices!! Now I have to go back to work to pay for my next vacation down there in May...and November...and ...
I am 100% with you on that one. Here is what I wrote when they let the camera in on lingerie night and almost killed it in 2010 : (find it here : http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/temptation-resort-cancun/13181-great-camera-debate-5.html#post285699) Here's how the lingerie night looked like. 20 persons are in lingerie, thongs, etc...and they play casino. Unluckily for the ladies , no i did not get the extra chip for being naked, RE:camera . 80 persons dressed casually, are sitting around us wildly taking picture like we are some zoo animals !!! None of these 80 people did play casino (you had to be properly dressed). NONE of them did go on the dance floor during that night. You read it well none out of 80 persons dressed casually did go to dance even 1 song. So they dont dress like the event recomend, they dont participate in the game, they dont dance or make the party more fun for anyone, but they so much need pictures to remember their "wild night" ? Just feel akward. As for the girlfriend and I, we were on the dance floor the whole night, showing her killer legs and cute butt for the viewing pleasure of many men...and women ! There's one thing I can do. Instead of 80 persons taking picture of the other 20, i might make it 82 who take pictures of the other 18...let's hope the other 9 couples dont reach the same conclusion !
Well I will say this has changed for the better since 2010. We first visited in 2010 and had a similar experience with Lingerie night. In our 3 visits since it got better each time as they are much more strict with cameras and dress code for lingerie night. Just don't want people reading this thinking it is this way now as it really isn't. Also the staff has been much better at enforcing no camera use during games. So the end result is the mis-use of cameras resulted in greater enforcement of the policies and if that results in some people getting upset that someone questioned their camera use then that is fine with me. Sure still use your camera for your group photos, that works fine. But if you get questioned just explain, no need to get upset, there is a very good reason for people being cautious.
I think the future looks really bright for both TTR and GOV!!! North America is big enough for both. With the passing of Superclubs in Jamaica, an entire section of the Adults + resort industry is down the tubes. Hedo III along with Breezes Runaway Bay (the most perfect adults resorts created) has been sold off and are now family oriented. Hedo IIs new Owners have a really bad reputation of allowing certain large groups to take the place over during their stays. In our opinion, Hedo II is way tooo much of a good thing !!! Sexy is fine, Sex isn't. Thats my wifes opinion, I could probably endure it but, hey, She don't like it, then we don't like it. Which leaves TTR and GOV to slug it out. Both are just fine !! We just happen to really love the one we are staying at a the moment!!!
