Good for you Michelle!! I hope you can do it, you just have to be ready like i said. For me it's been almost two years and I have no Desire. Good luck girl! Love ya!
You go girl!!!!!! I quit in May of 2005. I smoked a pack a day for most of my life. My dad got diagnosed with colon cancer and was starting chemo in May. I made some deals with the guy upstairs and he held up his end, so I must hold up mine. My dad did well thru chemo and is doing well today. I will "Never" go back, but there is not a day that goes by that I don't crave one atleast 3 times. Good luck to "all" of you that have quit and are trying. You can do it! You just have to have the right mind set.
That's fantastic refimom! Even though you watched your Dad go through that, I know that most people still couldn't quit. You should be extremely proud of yourself. It is the hardest habit in the world to break. I know what you mean about cravings. I haven't had a cig since Nov., 2004, and just the other day, I wanted one sooo bad. The feeling lasted maybe 10 seconds, and then it was gone. I don't think it ever really goes away. I believe if I had just one, I would be hooked again. It's a nasty habit! Good luck to you :lotsofmichaelf:
Hard habit worth breaking Thanks Terri! Same to you. I agree that it's a hard thing to do, but the smell of it alone is truly nasty. It's so funny now that I've been "smoke free", I smell it right away. I never realized how gross my hair and clothes must have smelled. Best of luck to you! You have made it this far, never give that up. I agree. If I lit up, I'd be right back at it. Deb
I agree. My sense of smell is incredible now. My hair actually smells like my shampoo all day. We should be proud (and we are!)
