    Thanks Ya'll, for the encouragemnt!!

It really is tough, yesterday was my first hard day and today seems even harder.

Even though it's been 2 wks already, I don't think I was really aware the first 10 days :? hahahaha. I had'nt really made a decision to quit, I just hoped I would. Now that it's been this long, I REALLY don't want to go back to it!!! *biting fingernails*

Your right Terri, the urges do pass, but man, walking out to the patio and kicking back with a cig. seems like such a relaxing thing to do
 So far I hav'nt done it (Just fighting the Temptation) and that has to be the hardest part. ***I hope***

    Thanks again guys

Macy - You can do it! Keep it up!

My husband quit after smoking for over 20 years. He quit on his 40th birthday. He had decided to quit that day about 6 months earlier. On his birthday we had a big party and he drank himself silly and smoked the rest of his cigarettes and that was it.

I only smoked for a few years when I was a teen. But when I quit I found I had all this TIME to kill, all this time I didn't know how to use. I went to this cool Doc, who had been an Olympic runner, and he said that I had to find a way to replace the ritual of smoking. He told me to take 5 minutes off every hour and relax, go for a short walk, anything nice, in order to replace the cigarette ritual.

I must say that the hardest for me was always being at a party. I didn't feel normal with a beer in one hand and no cigarette in the other hand, I just felt weird.

I quit right after someone close to me died of smoking-related heart disease, he was 44. He'd had his 3rd massive heart attack and was on a respirator for 10 days before he went. Seeing someone you care about, who is that young, on a respirator is enough to make you quit anything. More than you wanted to know, I'm sure!

Anyway, you can do it, and you will be very proud when you do. Just replace the ritual and be nice to yourself in some other way.

    HTH, Kim
