Matt, I'm glad you brought that up. I feel sad sometimes. It's like I lost a friend or something. We don't need friends like that though. You are doing great! I agree, it helps a lot for me to read the posts here every day. Thanks to all of you.

Mike, how's it going? Is it 10 days for you? I'm working on 2 weeks.

I guess its a lot easier here in Canada because they are pretty much banning smoking everywhere. Well here in Ontario where I am. You can't even smoke in what use to be the smokers lounge at the airport, so I am pretty sure that once you get into the departures lounge there are no more cigs until you land.

Its all a mind set that you need to conquer Mike. Every first thing you do that you use to associate with smoking will be tough the first go round, but you'll be surprised how quickly you adapt.

As for the cravings never leaving, take it from someone who knows, the cravings do go away, the needs do go away, its just the thoughts like "I can have just one" that haven't gone away yet. You'll see how great it is to be an ex-smoker soon enough.

Hang in there everyone, it will be a bumpy ride but your destination has clear blue skies ahead...oh and I see some tequilla beverages too so keep up the quit and don't give in to the urge!

    Hugs
    Sandy

Sandy's right....the urge does go away!

Now that I no longer smoke, the smell of cigarette smoke makes me sick, or being close to a smoker...yuck!

When you smoke you don't realize the smell is in your hair, your clothes, your car, your house.

As a nonsmoker you'll notice the smell of cigarettes is nauseating.

    HANG IN THERE!
IT REALLY IS WORTH IT TO SAVE YOUR LIFE!

    You're right Janie,
The smell is everywhere. I remember going on vacation to England and coming from an apartment where I smoked in every room. When I got to my parents house which is completely smoke free, I opened my suitcase full of supposedly clean clothes and OMG the smell of cigarettes was amazing!!!
You don't realise until you quit!
