THE BOSS bruce springsteen superbowl hafltime show..........

You are close enough to the USA to know how big the super bowl halftime show used to be. It used to be HUGE, EVEN bigger than the game itself....almost. I never said janet was the best they had, I have never been a janet fan, but after that happend, they have had all old people that are NOT relevant to todays music. Yes, all the people they have had USED to be big and to some demographics still are. But, 9/10 people you will talk to think its a joke now! And I do turn the channel, its pathetic! Used to be you would NEVER miss a halftime show at the superbowl, never!! Now....you cant wait to change the channel, they need to fix it. Bruce Springsteen................ what a joke! :lol:

It would be interesting to see the demographics of those who actually attend the game. I would think that most of the people who buy tickets are older (a lot of them being from expense accounts) and that is why they have classic performers... to cater to those who spend ridiculous amounts of money to witness it live.

I see your point here, but I can't see the crowd sitting (or dancing) through a half-time hip/hop performance either. I suspect it all comes down to the dinero (money) and they are targeting those individuals or groups that actually attend the event.

Perhaps they should hit all of the bases and have multiple performers. That way they would catch all of the demographic groups.

The corporations who own the club level seats and the people with season tickets, who are spending big bucks on food and drinks
and parking and souvenirs are the ones who are catered to.

It could be worse that Bruce. It could have been much more lame. He has some ok stuff. Just don't like all of it.

oh i never said that the half time show wasnt huge, but i really do think its totally a demographic thing. i think that the people that are actually at the game vs the people watching on tv. most of them would probably rather see bruce springsteen, paul mccartney and whomever over 50cent, akon, justin timberlake blah blah blah...

dont get me wrong. im not a springsteen fan either. but i think that the people who are filling the stadium and sponsoring the event are ...

 

Do you guys really care about the half time show and commercials.

The superbowl is the equivilent of the FA Cup Final, all i want to see is a good game of football. At half time i'll go get myself a beer anyway!
